Yeek. I tried to read through everything on here and failed. May the zombies attack you all for hijacking.

Maybe they have vision, and you're just not seeing it. This is a new concept after all, they may not have shared all their plans. I'm reserving judgement until I see everything it actually does. They haven't said enough and probably won't until release is closer, and we're all just wildly speculating.
I'm with you, but on the other hand unlocked doors and a lack of security cameras would invite people to steal or break stuff...even if they usually don't. DRM may not keep US from much of anything, but not everyone knows where to get cracks or whatnot.
Actually, that is a very smart way of making 1 company (EA) stop producing games. If they dont make enough profit out of their games, they will eventually just stop making them. So its a very logical approach. Why do you think EA is so focused on implimenting multiple forms of control on their games... So every time one copy of a game produced by a bad company (EA) doesn't get sold, we win. So in the
Yeah. We should make people lose money so they stop making games! That makes so much more sense. Seriously, that is about the worst logic I've ever had to listen to. If you don't want the game, don't buy it, but 'steal it so they change their mind' is not going to work.
I'm not saying that's the only purpose of it. I just recall them talking about something similar before. Honestly, I think it's a pretty wierd thing to do too. But a lot of people like to point at something new and say 'that sucks' when that isn't all it's going to do over its lifespan. Hell, look at how Steam started out. Steam was fairly boring and featureless when it was new. The plus with this sort of system hosted by EA is it wouldn't mat
I'm not particularly offended by any particular DRM unless it actually keeps me from playing games. Starforce comes to mind as a repeat offender. When win2k was good enough to replace 98 and a lot of EA games wouldn't play in 2k, that pissed me off. When Ubisoft wouldn't patch their games to work with x64 like everyone else did, that pissed me off. Activation schemes? DRM products that actually work without OS limitations? They don't bother me in the slight
I'll wait until I see the reason for it before I pass judgement. It's certainly bizarre and wouldn't be something I normally go for, but I play enough of MMOs that it wouldn't particularly bother me anyway.
The plus with working on DX11 IMO (even if you don't do it at launch) depends on how you plan to expand the game later. If you do plan to keep working on the game, then you'd have a more future proof 'platform'. I plan to get a dx11 card right away though, to replace my 8600GTS :) I'm sure the first gen dx11 cards won't be as spectacular as the later ones, but they'll sure as heck be better than my 8600GTS! Hee. But hey, I'm sure you've al

Lots of people would be up in arms. But there is no "official" as in government required review process. Additionally, as to the people that would get up in arms - fuck'em. They would surely not be paying customers in the first place.
Whil

Hot coffee was freaking stupid. If any of them had even seen the content involved, they would've said 'well damn, that's still not even close to R rated in movie terms.' and not gone into a hissy fit. TV and print media are for old people by old people, so of course they don't usually even try to understand new entertainment. (Yes, of course I recognize the fan backlash has wisened them up to some degree, but the Mass Effect controversy says 'not much.')
That would be an interesting solution, but I don't think the ESRB would appreciate it...unless there were some sort of deeper registration and age check system in place.
And look at the Japanese being on the opposite end on sex. I'm sure they have the same discussions over there, just with different vices. That said, I have no idea what I'd consider Europeans faults to be. I don't have enough exposure to European culture to say one way or another, I suppose. As to censored stuff I wouldn't want kids looking at that stuff either, though I'm sure like everyone else they're exposed to plenty of it over the internet.
That's been my biggest eye opener last year really is how North America is totally fine with almost any kind of violence but nudity almost sickens some people.
You could apply the same kind of statement to just about any culture in the world. They all have their priorities...which haven't changed all that much over the years. The Internet is good for pointing out what's wrong with the world, but who's actually goi
Overkill for most people. IE8 works great on every machine I've installed it on (seven so far,) but Firefox is definately easier to use (with the automatic logins and such.) My aunt on dialup had problems with IE8, but I suspect it was because the first time you run it it probably has to update its anti-phishing and whatever info. IE7 had similar stuff going on, just less in depth. Could've been a different problem entirely though, since she was using security softwa
(I'd say the forum hates my internet, but so do I sometimes...need an antenna for my EVDO modem. Scuse the double post.)
Valve has announced they still intend to release more freebies for L4D, and said their plans will make more sense later. Whether or not they will, I don't know. I only paid $25 for my copy of L4D (ok, $50 for two copies) so I don't really care what they do. It was worth $25 as is.
I know Petroglyph, I was a big UaW fan :) Finally got past the Novus campaign lol....if the DX10 bugs weren't there it would've been a lot sooner.
To add some detail to that statement, I think Advent Rising is one of the best games I've ever played. I don't go tell people to buy it because I'm sure plenty of them will disagree with me. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would tell me turn based strategy is the only way to fly. Same with world war 2 games. I can't stand either type, except in rare cases. The fact is, that ship is sailed. Most people who actually wanted to buy Act of Wa
Yeah, I'll love it so much I'm not going to buy it. I still think it'll suck.
BTW, Amazon.com sale price is only 7.99$. Not a huge risk if you ask me. Its your call, but if you are a C&C Generals fan, than you have nothing to be afraid of.
I have nothing to gain either. I have way too many games already. (Along with plenty of other older games that seemed interesting but I never actually played.)
Spore and Sims are bad examples though. They still follow the expansion model for everything relevant. I have never bought a parts or clothes pack, and I probably never will. Likewise, I don't expect to buy anything off the Sims 3 Store unless they start offering previously mentioned expansions direct through it. I don't have anything against them trying to make some extra money off of that sort of thing, because the only people who are going to want them are go
You know I don't know if the description they had for the Crawler was correct. I suspect it's fully mobile, as in, doesn't need to be deployed. We shall see. Frankly, as bored as I am by Dawn of War 2s story mode, I'm not expecting much but I am hopeful. Not too hopeful, cause C&C3 bored me to tears.
