I think Microsoft likes to change their tools in 'tiers' so we'll see a version 2.5 and a version 3.0 just like with .net and Zune and whatever. I think they need major work on the client first. It's a good start getting DLC going on the PC, but they barely even have any content yet. Kinda sad. I'm hoping MS will get serious with digital distribution...Xbox Live is definately worth mentioning for its varied amount of content, but as fa

As an intro, if you're wondering what 'smap' is, it's a playful take on 'spam' for those of us at nForcersHQ who like to talk crap with our friends. :) I find it fascinating when a company that drives much of what we call PC gaming can't keep up. I finally bought the Fallout 3 addons on GfWL and laugh that people love to complain about Impulse (for some of the stupidest reasons! But anyway.) The client installed my addons but ref
@Savyg: Comodo is as intrusive as you would like it to be. This is definatly some wierd conflict in the Demigod engine, since it does not happen with any other game, and I have 100s of games. But if I have to disable parts of an app just to get it to work the way I want it to I might as well be using something else, so 'a

It should make you laugh...especially if you're not using XP anymore. XP audio was notoriously finicky. Thats one reason I almost feel bad for Creative Labs...almost. They're still the only good maker of accelerated audio cards. I'm curious whether Demigod uses XAudio 2 or DirectSound, myself.

I never tried to connect online, but I couldn't even get through to a LAN game with the AVG Firewall enabled (and Demigod supposedly allowed through it.) It still wouldn't connect with the firewall disabled and set to Allow all, either. As soon as I uninstalled AVG, the game connected fine. (Yes, I have the Windows Firewall on now.) Lets see, major failures connecting with the AVG Firewall...Internet Connection Sharing, Games

Generals was just...way too much fun! I've always ended up disappointed with the original C&C line and I do enjoy Red Alert, but Generals always get a few dozen plays when my bro comes home heh heh :)
I cannot believe that developers still fail to show patch notes when they update. Sigh.
Seriously though, they aren't really changing much yet. I'd only care if they didn't show patch notes on big patches.

Update your video drivers...and probably all the others too. Those are seriously out of date. I assume that's an OEM system, and you probably shouldn't be using the video drivers from the OEMs support site...those are usually fairly out of date. http://www.nvidia.com has what you need.

I understand why games have moved to peer to peer, but it absolutely frustrates me. Some of my favorite games desync for no good reason. Sometimes it's just once in a while. Sometimes it's every other time. There's never any discernable reason to it that I've been able to figure out and it just ends up irritating me. I'm a desktop support technician so I know enough to fix things...when there's actually something I can do. I can't count the

Yep. I couldn't find the manual in my last install either, and now on the fresh install I can. Makes me wonder if the update data got mangled somehow, or the update was pushed through while I was installing it the first time, or something like that.

I'll worry about the future of the internet when it becomes the NEAR future...otherwise, I might as well be doing something useful like arguing on forums. Oh wait...doh! ;)

Even so, retail is still a significant part of sales so it definately has value when considering the NA market, though it's certainly becoming less relevant as the years go by. I just picked up my copy.
