I think more people are going to leave reading this thread thinking about horses than they are about the possible issues of DLC.
The only issue I have is that people are assuming DLC today is going to be what all DLC will be like, which given the fast rate of evolution is obviously not true.
Pretty much the second one. I understand not wanting the DLC trend to continue if you're not into it, but as DLC evolves it'll get more and more like what he wants anyway...depending on the company of course. So basically he just hates the thought that some companies are devaluing their own p

I don't see that happen anymore. Sure, EA has done some funky stuff with Sims 3, but there's a whole lot of content on their store that I frankly wouldn't want. I used up my 1000 free points and don't plan to ever get more (unless something really interesting happens.) Some of the initial DLC runs were a little silly in that direction, though. Dead Rising comes to mind as a complete joke for DLC, heh.

It doesn't have to be Crysis to get some neat effect action. RTSes are hardly Crysis, and quite a few of them have a dx10 port. Plus, I don't think you need dx11 cards to use dx11, just for some of the features. I'm not as intimately familiar with it as I could be...because I don't really care yet until it's closer to release. Anyway, it doesn't have to be a priority...if it was a priority, I'd think it'd go much deeper than what I was suggesting.

Too bad about the DX10/DX11...LOTRO used it in a great way IMO without overhauling the graphics, but adding some very nice SFX tweaks. I think we're past the point where graphics cards can handle that sort of thing. Don't know how DX11 will really perform, but I'm not expecting much...every time they say it'll perform better and it never seems to. Alas, I have seen some total disasters of DX10 ports so I'm not surprised...just hopeful you might thing about adding a dx10/11

I hope they are dead and I obviously loved those games, so indeed on the disagreement. That said, though, I understand your feelings in general. I haven't been terribly impressed with most DLC expansions as they're fun, but so incredibly easy and limited. Fallout 3 I've been working my way towards more of the DLC...the first one wasn't that impressive, but it was pretty good...they got way more buyers than they expected so started shifting more resources to it pa

I could probably count the number of expansions I've actually finished on one hand. C&C Generals: Zero Hour...Red Alert 3: Uprising...umm...FEAR: Extraction Point...I've been gaming for roughly twenty four years now, and that's all I can remember. (I have plenty more, I just never finish them.) With DLC, if I wasn't going to play through it I wouldn't buy it in the first place. But you're not too likely to see many normal expansions anymore. They existe

I love DLC. By the time a full expansion comes out for a game, I rarely care enough to play much of it anymore. With DLC, they keep me interested in playing more. I don't care if it's free or pay because either way they're spending money to give me something I enjoy. Should we really be expecting companies to do stuff for little return on investment? Look how long it took for the UT3 2.0 patch to come out. I'm sure it was fascinating, but I was long do
It was a hassle setting up a GFWL account and they still had the a and b buttons on the GFWL menus(did they ever change that?).
Yes, GfWL got a major overhaul and mostly makes sense now. And the multiplayer is free. If both of those had been true when UaW launched, the community might still be there...but alas, too late for that now.

It hasn't crashed on me at all since I turned off DX10. They REALLY shouldn't have included DX10 at all, it's a pretty awesome game otherwise. That said, two years later and I finally finished the Novus campaign. Why it took so long...I have no idea. I've been buying way too many games, really. Working on that though. :)

I gotta say as a single player gamer I've already bought my two copies. I mean sure, I don't go playing it every day but when my brother was home I got quite a few games in on the LAN...so maybe it'd be more correct to call me an 'offline' gamer. I get around 80k upload and download at the moment, so apparently that's not quite up to standards for this game. Ah well.

I was a huge Dungeon Siege fan...even posted on a DS website that was relatively popular. DS2 was wierd and felt off. It was still good, just not quite what I wanted. I still don't have the expansion. Space Siege? Yeah, no. I'm sure it's worth playing for a little bit, but I doubt I'd get much out of it. I do have SupCom but not Forged Alliance, as I still have yet to get through a single campaign. As for Demigod,
