When you choose to upgrade a given ship class (or individual ship) it'll pop up a dialog telling you how long it would take along with a slider bar of what % of your industrial resources to allocate towards the refit. As you change the slider, the base time required to do the refit would change. Heh. I tend to agree with Astax on this one. If

I would like to see each major race in the game start every game with the same home star configuration: - same number of planets - same planet names - same star color - same star name It would be ok if the planets' PQ were semi-random each time (maybe not random for the one home planet).

From galciv 1 you know that events will be the first thing people mod. But I don't know how much the events engine will allow you to make really drastic game-play alterations. Maybe the dev team should concentrate more on making Galactic Events very mod-able, and not so much on coming up with new events. Let the community play around with mod

Same here. I'm honored to be a Diplomat, but what privileges does that grant? Proud Canadian: "I have 750,000 frequent flyer miles. I should be a platinum member, dammit!" Galactic Starlines agent: "Sir, you need 50,000 light years just to qualify for silver elite status. Is this your first time in space?" Proud Canadian: "D'oh!"

2) The distance from the planet it was constructed on (to prevent cheese with building super fast ships and then upgrading them to mega death ships easily). Why do we care about the planet it was constructed on? Can't any planet with a Star Port deal with the upgrading? That's like me shipping my Acura back to Japan every time I need servicing.

Perhaps, in GC 2 military supply lines as upgrade freighters could add to the strategic and logistical depth (an interesting risk to manage in addition to time vs. distance). I suppose I am looking for additional ways to improve the concept of borders, fronts, and territories over GC1. How about this: an upgrade requires a "cargo shuttle" to go

In Galciv 1 you could rename your planets Actually, I think you could only rename a star, not an individual planet. But you're right about the ship names, its already in GalCiv 2 beta.

I had an idea while looking at my iguana today. Although the iguana can walk around, climb, even stand on two legs and beg for things, its natural state is to lay out flat and bask for 90% of their day. People prefer to sit in chairs or lay in beds when they are not doing physical activities. Is their any way this could be reflected in the diplomacy screens for the alien ambassadors? Humans sit in a chair, water-creatures would appear in water (or a "fishtank room", etc), some creatures migh

He wants Stardock to make a multiplayer expansion pack and call it "Multiple Universes". Oh wow, you're right! I honestly couldn't understand that. What language was he speaking anyway?

Just a question for Frogboy, what moron decides the budget for you guys anyway and how much say you have on it? Is it somethign that comes down to pure money, or is there something amongst the lines "this won't cost a lot of money, but we have little expierience programmign that and it might take a long time and be hard to implement." Does the developer and game designer d

They can either A) Upgrade them all at once or B) Go to individual ships and have them upgrade to a particular ship type. This is what I was hoping to see. You choose to upgrade your ships of a particular ship design and get the following choices: - Start upgrade of all "Constellation" class ships; OR - Give me a popup with a list of

Seriously. This is a very bad idea, as it will almost always force the players to go through and park all their ships in a safe area before hitting the master upgrade. He didn't say that an Upgrade is applied to all ships. Maybe we will get to choose ship-by-ship? If a good interface is provided, this should be painless. Maybe a list that sh

or they could be like the infamous Clippy of microsoft word Don't even joke about putting that little b'stard into a perfectly good game! When you are trying to figure out why Word isn't working properly, the last thing you need is a stupid cartoon paperclip jumping around and offering advise that is never helpful.

Well ask yourself why this thread is here and why this discussion come up each time, ask yourself why users "pressured" you so much to add ship design and additional playble races and you will know the answer Hey, good point. I don't remember a Space Strategy game that had custom ship design before MOO. That was my favorite part about MOO2 -

I love the one labelled "Laser Fire". Not so much for the lasers, but I like the list below that shows which ships are matched with which enemy for the current combat round. Very nice! Has an easy to understand display of who attacked who, as well as what type or weapons and defenses both sides have. I think I'm going to really enjoy fleet combats in Beta 4.
