Do you read any Neil Gaiman? I ask because if this is how your imagination works, you'd probably love his style. His latest book, Fragile Things , is a collection of short stories and poems. Some are dark, some are light, all are good. One is even about what roasting and eating a phoenix would be like. Sometimes I wonder if one of the tortures in hell is pushing some great fat demon on a swing for eternity while he screams..."faster! higher!" buwh

Here's a little something to help you laugh through the pain. Spell Checker (author unknown, there are many versions of this floating around) Awesome! My psychology professor had this posted on her office door, and I always meant to find a copy of it. Thanks for saving me the trouble. If I get my assistantship, I plan to print this out and hand it to my Freshmen Comp classes. as these are NOT normal charact
Reading this was like walking into a fairy tale. You reminded me of Tolkien, actually. He used to complain about imps that bothered him. One's name was Slugbob, the head imp. He and his "brood" were responsible for all kinds of minor mishaps -- like clogging the sinks. Your demons are darker, but the imaginative presence is the same. Fascinating read.
You're right. I re-watched it and she is saying "ask". Even better. But I wonder, whose ass is she going to kick? I wonder which monster it is that she's not at all afraid of.
Ugh. You're right. I just saw "read" instead of "red". Please don't point out the others. It would hurt my fragile ego.
You got your ass kicked by a slide? And the saddest part is, this isn't the first time! Of course, this time I can blame it on 15 other adults playing on blow up slides and playing rough... and falling face first into people's elbows and knees. The last time, I had only myself to blame. And, I might as well tell that story. I was barefoot with sandy feet, walking up a metal slide -- you know, walking up the part you're supposed to slide down
Actually, the Taco Bell food has hurt my stomach, so I won't actually be lying. How wonderful is that? I'm sorry, but I could never enjoy opera. Especially not with my ears. How I managed to be a music major, without liking opera or choral music, I'll never know. I have four papers due next week and finals the next week. If I wait until the last minute to write them, I don't sit around and bitch about it. I may kick my own butt for putting the papers off so long, but I don
That is so awesome! Have fun!
Sounds like my Izzy. She too will poop anywhere. Maybe he should diaper his Izzy. Do they make doggie diapers? Thanks for your help everyone. Things are getting better. At least, she isn't pooping directly under foot. She still pees when she's really excited... but I doubt he'll break her of that.
My friend is having her Senior Recital tonight and I'm not going. I told her I would go, but truth is, I never really intended to. I lied, basically. I hate that kind of music -- opera, classical -- especially when sung by a high soprano. She has a beautiful voice, but the high loud notes hurt my ears. (Literally. I have some damage to my inner ears, and they ca
I bet that little girl is going to grow up and say, "Mother! Why did you put that on the internet? Gah!" (imagine a pissed off teen saying this) However, it's pretty funny for now.
Just think, everytime you accidentally touch the lump, you'll remember how you got it and how much fun you had getting it. Have you given it a name yet? I got to remember the fun all night long. I've named the lump on my head Murphy and the black eye Susan. (I know it's not original, but it's my first black eye) I also get to retell the stories about how it happ
One of my "girls" just found out about the bleeding head. She's lecturing me, scolding me, and trying to "take care" of me. I do have some residents out there who like me... and I even had her boyfriend arrested! and she still likes me! and if she finds out I'm typing this, she's going to give me another black eye.
((((((((((TEX)))))))))) Good vibes coming your way. They may have a ways to go, but they'll get there eventually.
That's right. I am (or was) covered in blood, bruises and root beer. I have a black eye, cuts and bumps on my scalp, three bruised nails, plastic burns on my wrists, elbows, knees and ankles. I was also covered in root beer, water, pickle juice, sprite, dirt, sweat and dirt. And my stomach hurts from laughing so much. You see, we had an "Honors Field Day"
Ich spreche Deutsches auch. Sure thing...but that probably won't be until next fall before they give me all the details...unless the prof decides to be awesome and post it online or mail it out. I'll be around. Just title the article "Because SHE is a dork and wants to know these things..." I took AP chem in High School and got A's in it...
I'll go to the Toad Suck store (yes, there is one) and look at the shirts. I'm afraid they're just white t-shirts though... but there may be some with color. I'll let you know what I find. I'm really excited about this!
Lore is back. Lore has teamed up with the newly diversified Borg and has taken Data under his wing by giving Data emotions. I miss the days when reading fantasy lit was counted as "research". I still act like it is... but people don't buy it anymore.
I was wondering about that. It has a GER in front of it. I wonder if it is German based? That would be even better! I'm trying to learn German. Ok, I'm getting a little too excited about a class I don't even get to take.
Most people call it "skipping class." I call it a "mental health day." Am I BSing to make skipping sound better? You bet. Does that make it any less true? Nope. Not at all. After being my class' "punching bag" (my professor's words, not mine) on Tuesday, I decided not to go to class today. It's not that I'm avoiding confrontation... I would love to say
SHE will love it that you're taking the Fairy tale course! God, I really do have a reputation, don't I? Oh well. Since I was going to ask if you would post the reading list for your fairy tale class once you get it, I suppose my reputation is deserved. So... will you post the reading list
I certainly hope there's nothing seriously wrong with you. I can usually tell when my liver is malfunctioning because I'll begin to bruise if you even look at me hard...it has something to do with albumin and clotting factor and all that crap. Do you take a lot of NSAIDs by any chance? That can cause easy bruising too. I try not to take ibuprofen very often... and the tylenol pm even less. However, it could help explain some of the bruising. Then again
They were calling it a "lock down" because all of the dorms would be locked down 24/7 which is unusual for our campus. It definitely makes more sense than allowing any and everyone wander about the building... but it is too inconvenient for the residents to pull their cards out and swipe them to get in the building rather than just pulling the doors open.
I'm not so worried about a shooter getting in the building... it's the other creeps that get in. People who are there to do drugs, rape, or just live in my building. This is not so much a danger in a classroom where there are lots of people around. Also, the RA's are supposed to know every person who lives in their building. We're supposed to know who doesn't belong here. Does that mean the residents don't let people in? No. However, there are some people who you know don't live i
Of course not. This is twenty-first century mother-huggin' AMERICA. Personal convenience trumps absolutely everything. That's great stuff! I may have to steal that line for my own personal use sometime in the near future.
