The simplest solution is staring us in the face and we refuse as a civilization to see it: Set up the rules to reward businesses putting people to work. The transfer solution is doomed by definition, unless & until all economic activity is generated by (ro)bots. Then won't it be exciting watching the war over divvying it up.

FWIW, there is a way to set Scheduled Maintenance to detect issues only, not automatically fix them. This article relates to a known issue with Scheduled Maintenance automatically deleting 'unused' or 'broken' shortcuts (to resources not available at the time of Sch
For home users, turning off Updates is a definite option. In some work environments, however, failing to keep your systems current from a security perspective can potentially subject you to serious, non-trivial, sanctions in the event of a breach. If Windows Update, otherwise known as Murphy, borks something it's just the price of doing business.
Not sure if Scheduled Maintenance is a vector for that in Windows 7. What I've found seems to relate to 8/8.1.
In self-defense, we've had to enable automatic important (security) updates on all our workstations (otherwise, they'd never happen if left to the staff to do them manually), but we've made sure the 'Give me recommended...' checkbox has been unchecked. Several of the workstations ended up with 3035583 installed anyway. This past week have installed GWXCP on all of them & run Never10 as well (for purposes of redundancy purposes [e digicons]^_^[/e] ).
Only problem is, the NSA then has them. [e digicons]:omg:[/e]
The article at Kurzweil AI is interesting and thought-provoking. Seems like a plausible concept. We'll never know , of course, but makes a certain sense.
I had 'Never 10' and 'GWX Control Panel' installed on the 2nd of my big beasties with Win 8.1 installed, yet it rebooted with Windows 10 two mornings ago...
Just curious, Starkers - Did you have "Give me Recommended Updates the same way I receive Important Updates" checked in your Windows Update settings? And was the GWXCP monitor running on that rig? It would be very interesting, no

Short answer is No.
ODM has in my experience been unreliable in reflecting reality for reasons unknown. I've previously had the exact scenario you describe but with a different application. Uninstalling and reinstalling ODM itself didn't help, either. Seems to have been the experience of at least a limited number of other users, the specific cause(s) probably unique to each system. The thing about ODM is it is a nice way Stardock has made available to manage the OD apps but
First: Try logging out of ODM, then logging back in. That often fixes the list. Failing that: Log in to your account at store.stardock.com and go to your My Downloads page - it will be there available for download. Just checked and version 3.00.0 is there.
Support ticket may be your best option. I don't recall a similar situation coming up in the forums.
If you are on Windows 10, there are some internal incompatibilities to deal with as well: ShadowFX is disabled if Windowblinds is being used, I believe.
What are the best featured components of the suite of software with which to work first?
That will depend on a few things, including which Windows OS you are running and what sorts of desktop enhancements appeal to you. Not all the individual applications within the suite are compatible with Windows 10 (yet) and a few may never be. Most are compatible with Windows 7 &/or Windows 8/8.1. A few are legacy apps that are not compatible with

The program and tour are pretty damn nifty. Thanks for sharing with us. The trike was a nice touch!
Birds are a far bigger aviation problem, not that we should add to it with artificial birds.
