I sympathize with you, neone6, but JcR is probably more right than wrong. Lots of reasons that interest in skinning in general is down. For one, as you well know (you do great work, BTW), it's now very difficult to produce a quality skin absent significant skill with graphics apps and TONS of time. And I just found that right-clicking on an ad image will give you the option to block it &/or everything served up by that ad domain. Those annoying teaser ads are gone now, after refreshing the page.

I think they must be whitelisted in the default filter lists as they show up even after unchecking that "allow non-intrusive ads" checkbox. While they are easy to ignore, the ones that get through are some of the most annoying and real estate gobbling, natch. And the drop-down menu for ABP tells you status - if Disable is an option, ABP is enabled for that site.

What's chicken, what's egg is of little relevance - if SD doesn't anticipate a return on that dev investment, even if that anticipation is wrong, it won't happen. In which case, we'll never know. Don't blame them, nature of the biz.

Speaking of FUD, anyone else notice that there have been no Win7 security update notifications in quite a while? I've had my system set to notify me when important updates are available but no systray notifications have appeared since maybe November. Out of curiosity, I just checked Windows Update manually and lo and behold, 34 important updates are waiting. Same on another rig so it must be 'server side'. Inscrutable, MS is.

Only switch to admin profile when necessary (or use the "run as Admin" right-click option when necessary).
