Pesonally, I see nothing wrong with that. Its a creative, philological endeavour, much like the serious pursuits of amatuer and professional philologists and linguists who explore and document JRR Tolkien's various invented languages. In can be a useful exercise and an enthusiastic starting point for those who enter that field of study. There's a real passion for exploring these things. I for one was entranced by Tolkien's languages and alphabets. It's the same curiosity that, as a teen

A really old (pre-Windows XP) skin, Liquid by Ed Deans has a nice animated effect along the left windows edge. Also Sex Pistions by Treetog has a nice animated effect as well And Morphh's Toxic skin has nice green toxic liquid effect. This is another pre-Windows XP skin though [Message Edited]

Like LogonStudio, ObjectDock (not to be confused with ObjectBar) is a freeware product as well.
The Wincustomize subscription is separate from Object Desktop. If you buy Object Desktop, you will not be restricted by any download limit from the site. A Wincustomize subcription allows for unrestricted download as well (admittedly a moot point if you already have Ojbect Desktop, or some other Stardock product). However, a Wincustomize subscription also gives you accees to some premium skins, and an enhanced version of the Wincustomize Skin Browser. Plus the 20 dollars for th
I don't know if Media Center (basically Media Jukebox version 9 with all the new multimedia enhancements) has a full-fledged cd collection database. However, Media Jukebox Version 8 does keep track of what CDs it has accessed (it shows up as one of the nodes in it's media library tree-view). I don't think it keeps track of info on the CD other than the CD name. It does however have a pretty powerful database/search mechanism for th media library itself so you can search for an MP3 in t
Anything that can assist in task managment would be great. For instance, there are the good old Rollup and Always On Top are very useful when flipping between two apps (say the calculator and some other app) What I think would be really cool: A button that brings the last previously active app to the foreground. This would allow you to flip between two apps much like you can with the standard Alt-Tab simply by pressing the button. That would extremely useful. Much cleaner than

My main computer is a 750 mhz pentium with a geforce2 card, 256 meg RAM, 2 hard drives: 20 gig and 160 gig, and a cheap soundblater card. My other computer is a 450 mhz pentium, with a geforece1 card, 256 meg RAM ad 2 hard drives: an 8 gig and a 15 gig. Both systems are 4 or 5 or so years old. Both are okay but ultimately inadequate for the stuff I do. I was going to buy a new desktop computer, but my laptop died, and its looks like I'll have to replace that first befo
I enjoyed the movie immensely. Much better than I had hoped, given the first movie. A quite alot of nods to the comic books fans strewn throughout the movie
What specifically are your having problems? Take a look at this thread as it may help you out (someone was having problems as well): https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=144115#144442
There is a Mud Theme for this site (under Themes Manager) Voodoo_FreaK liked it so much he created a WindowBlinds theme based on it. (Just search for it in the WindowBlinds section)
For everyone reminiscing about days/skinners of bygone days, I just want to point out that this thread has sort of become the sister thread of FrogBoy''''s MIA Skinners thread https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=142802#143412 And to a lesser extent Hippy''''s Old School reunion thread https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?id=139706&BID=WC&page=1#139964 Just didn''''t want those threads to fall by the wayside since there''''s some great old time posts

That reminds me of several animated skins, some of which you can see in action since their thumbnail images are GIF files. All of them were revoluationary at the time, and not just because they were animated. They were very creative. Mercury's WhatIsTheMatrix https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&SkinID=1063 And here's the updated version for XP https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&SkinID=2613 Morphh's Toxic. Not only is it animated, it was one the fi
ah..in that case..never mind. I misunderstood the original post. To the best of my knowledge, you can't remove them from Windows. Only from ObjectBar
You can go into Objectbar config (either from the systray icon or rightclicking the bar) and browse through the treeview window pane until you find the bar in question. If you have trouble finding it, I think you can rightclick an item in the tree view and tell it to highlight the bar on the screen. This will allow you to make sure you're looking at the bar you want to modify/delete. Now You can either delete the bar, or in the right side of the config dialog window (probably i
