I just saw a guy down the street zooming around on a Segway in the parking lot. I looked really fun (and useful for a lazy guy like me). I read somehere that some postal workers are doing tests with it and have found some problems such as unloading it from the truck at certain stops, dealing with curbs, and being unable to sort mail as they go (which they normally do as they walk).

And another Happy Birthday shout-out to Paxx.
Happy Birthday BoXXi!
That wallpaper is a painting of Gandalf the Grey in Hobbiton by John Howe (from one of his JRR Tolkien/Lord of the Rings calandars). I can be found on the Rolozo Tolkien site. Here's a link to the image you're looking for: http://img-fan.theonering.net/rolozo/images/howe/hobbiton.jpg Here's another illustration Howe did of Gandalf: http://img-fan.theonering.net/rolozo/images/howe/gandalf.jpg The Rolozo Tolkien Site has a large collection of Tolkien related artwork: htt
I can't skin either. Well, I skinned my knee falling down some stairs when I was a kid. Does that count? So I guess I'm a skin groupie, if there is such a thing.
Hmm. Seeing a Sci-fi/Fantasy trend here...

Pretty much what craeonics does.

You may also want to try Simple Control (I just found out about it the other day): http://deep-end.net Its a handy, simple skinnable app that controls Winamp. It looks pretty easy to skin.
Unfortunately you can't do it with using just WindowBlinds on Win ME. The WinXP skins come with two start menus, one that works for WinXP and one that works for Win ME/98/2K. However, you can still get you desktop to look like WinXP. What you need is ObjectBar which is another problem by StarDock. ObjectBar is a customizable task bar / start menu replacement. There are quite a few WinXP themes for it on this website, and I think ObjectBar may come with some WinXP themes built in. You c

A WinXP skin is not a winstyles skin. You need WindowBlinds to install the skin. You can download the shareware version of WindowBlinds at http://www.windowblinds.net. Once you have WindowBlinds installed, got to your Window Display dialog and (depending on which version of Windows you're running) go to the Skins tab are the Appearance tab. From there you can install and apply the skin. FYI: WinStyles is an application which multiple application themes can be packed into o
Yeah, the Phantom Menace would be so much better this way.
Oops the movie goes only as far as Obi-wan leaving the control room to take out the tracker beam. Maybe they'll add more to it.
Here's a telnet site that play the entire orginal Star Wars movie via animated ASCII art. It's pretty long. You can issue the following in a command prompt to launch it: telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl
You need the WinStyles program to use it: https://www.stardock.com/products/winstyles
As a non-skinner, this is a great feature that I've been wanting and whining about for some time. Hopefully it'll foster some more community activity from non-skinners (skinnies?) who like to put together custom themes. Is there going to be a separate category for this on WinCustomize, or is it folded into the WinStyles category or Screenshot category?
So from a technical point of view is there any advantage to using what amounts to as a MS-wrapper API around system hooking versus using the hooks directly? Is there any value-add that the theming DLL provides? Just curious.

Excellent work, Paxx! IMHO, this is the best Wincustomize theme by far.

Frogboy, Is the version with gamma correction available yet in component manager? I've installed WB 3.1 beta from Comp Mgr and there doesn't seem to be a gamma correction option as in your screenshot.
Also, I think home can't be used to join a domain.
