BulMaster. don't jump to conclusions. If the version is from beta anyone who pre-ordered while the beta was up had access to this code. The fact that they say that the bonus pack is included is just false as it is not complete yet. Also when CD's are made this introduces a whole chain of possible pirates.

No the choice is made at the start of the game.
To clear it up below is a Invasion Tactic Entry. The image is just a pcx file. You can find a complete list of invasion tactics here http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/invtactics.htm Example. //------------------------------------------------------------------------ INVTACTIC TidalDisruptors //------------------------------------------------------------------------ DisplayName "Tidal Disruptors" Description "By scatterin
I have added invasion tactics to me website. If you want to take a look at what was available in the gamma release. My site will be updated on the 26th with the actually shipped games data file as well as the bonus pack. enjoy http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/invtactics.htm ~SDC~
You might find this pdf useful. Just a word of warning it will need to be updated with the release so I would wait till the 26th before printing it off. http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/galcivquickref.pdf ~SDC~
You can also use a Transport rather than a Colony Ship to transport people to a planet you have already colonized.
Oh forgot to mention my strategies are for map sizes up to medium
As far as tax rate etc. Tax Rate usually 50% Spend Rate 100% 20% Social 40% Military 40% Research I usually produce 1-2 scouts depending on the map before Colony ships.
First thing I like to get is Trade so I can start sending out freighters. This also gets you Universal Translators and Economic Capital. After that it depends.
Good job T-Man ~SDC~
Stardock has large bandwidth on thier sites. I don't think it will be an issue. ~SDC~
I expect a few fan sites will post some basic strategies. One thing I will say after playing galciv through beta and gamme is that you will have to adjust your stragies while playing. No one strategy will win every game. ~SDC~
From the stardock news letter back in 1999. :D
The AI is multithreaded but does not depend on hyperthreading for features. If you have a hyperthreading cpu it will just run better.
That was suppose to be take a look :) Its been a long week.
ALso if you need help with the Tech Tree, projects etc you can take a lot at my fan site http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm
Trying it out too. ~SDC~
Yes. I will no longer be ruler of the Universe. :D
Sorry FAAdmiral Galciv does not include the planet surface stuff.
Ion_Stream, I think you will find the starbases more than make up for the ship design feature. Starbases play an important role and I think more fit in with a stratgey game than a tactical ship design module. But that is my opinion ;). Sorry if I restated some of the things you already knew but it might be informative to some of the other people reading the thread. I look forward to reading your opinion of the game after you have played it.
There is a thread on how to modify the ships in the game. http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=18553
No ship design in game. You can however make new ships available be adding a file with a ship extension in the data directory. Here is an example. //------------------------------------------------------------------------ SHIP StarHawk //------------------------------------------------------------------------ Name "Star Hawk" Model "Ship06" Description "The next generation of survey ships. Starts off with some ba
Ship design has always had a large focus in 4X space games. Galciv is slightly different in that military might is not the focus of the game. Diplomancy, trade, influence, population morale, economy and politics all get equal billing with military conquest. If fact you can win a game without even going to war. Its hard to do put you can do it. One of the hardest ways to win is military conquest(At least for me it is). There is still strategy in military conquest without designing how many l
Hey midnight_louie you are slipping. You forgot to mention my fan site. http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell The site is a list of the research, projects and star base modules you can build. All parsed form the actual game files. You can also find the link under fan sites in the encyclopedia.
Cool. When will SDCentral with this in be released.
