Putting Multiplayer in a game is complex. You almost have to design from the ground up for it. I would not expect to see multiplayer in Galciv. What might happen if Galciv is successful is that a new game based on Galciv with multiplayer will be developed. This might not make some of you happy but the focus of the game is single player. I think you will find this is one of the best single players games on the market. If stardock decides to do a Multiplayer Galciv I wou

How long are you willing to watch the game before you get resurrected. How long will it be before you are re-conquered. If you don't want your ally to lose help him. Give him ships, tech, money. This is part of the game. If you give back the world you are in effect splitting your empire and weakening yourself. This is not a "GOOD" thing to do. If you let a minor Civ die you lose the trade route. If it is important to you don't let the minor Civ die. Truthfull
Aye thanks Lucky Jack. I tend to think of improvments as including the Trade Goods, Galatic Wonders and Galactic Achievments.
On 6 you can always leave the United Planets however this is rarely a good idea because you cannot trade with any civ's that belong to the United Planets.
All of the above are in simple text files. You will need a little knowledge but they are fairly simple. The bonus pack will include tools to help with this. If the AI is modifiable I have not seen the files that control it.
At the moment the things that can be changed are 1. Technologies. 2. Improvements. 3. Ships. 4. Starbase Modules. 5. Events. 6. United Plant Issues.
Sorry should have let you guys know. Brad has allowed me to keep my site updated with the gamma releases. If you need the Beta4C data I can provide it at a different address. Let me know.

Site has been updated with Beta 5 data. Starbase Modules seem to have grown will probably need to split up the list. Probably work on it tommorrow. Enjoy http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm
Link here http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm or in the Fan Site Section of the Encyclopedia. Update Notes Labelled all pages with Beta4Z as I realised I have 3 copies lying around and could not tell which was which. Also increased the font size on the Tech Tree Images and PDF's hopefully they are now more readable. I did try change fill colors and font colors. The current combination is about the best I can get it but any suggestion are welcom
Trade +10 just increases the profit on trade not the number of trade routes
Get well soon Brad and all the crew. Plenty of chicken soup. Maybe have a big pan of it going at the office. :D
Lightened up the purple and blue let me know if it is better. Thanks
Probably means a long weekend of doing final testing and bug fixing ;)
Thanks for the plug Luck Jack. If you need to find the link it is in the fan site section of the Encyclopedia.
The Drengin Game Manager will tell you if there is a newer version.

Thanks for reminding me I did not get a chance to update the site with 4D. Should be done later tonight.
"how does one become "commander"?? ". I am not sure either. Some titles I think are based on the number of posts, others I think are granted by stardock. Only other commander I know of other than Luck Jack is AlexG.
Check out my website for more information on the tech tree http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm Hope this answers you questions.

Brad early in the development of Galciv explained that he wanted to concentrate on the Computer AI rather than coding a search alogrithym. Unlike many other games this is the only advantage the AI gets. The only setting I have found this becomes an issue is on smaller size galaxies but you can out produce the AI on average settings by buying Colony Ships.
They put it special code just for you Master Lame :) ;)
