Hmm okies. But on the other hand it's tough if the enemy ship has two moves. Then you cant attack until it's too late. And the reason of attacking is the difference in defence/attack-points, right?

Hmm maybe not after all. Probaly only now, when testing, I see a need like that. When I dont test I play on larger maps where things happens more often.
good one. very useful.
Well, most of the time I have all ships on either sentry or autopilot. so that makes me pressing turn/enter alot anyway :) On the other hand, I might think it would be nice with a feature that bring "auto-turn" further. If I have all ships on autopilot or sentry, and have my planets do whatever project they are doing, Im getting bored pressing enter 30-80 times in a row. Then it could just auto-progress with new turns until something happens or completes. It would automaticly stop in so
Hmm not sure. You could also have it to deorbit to a free spot and give free moves on all tiles surrounding the system until you take an action. Not always on those tiles tho, only the time you deorbit. On the other hand, then if the enemy has ships on three tiles next to eachother you wont be able to attack the one in the middle in the first move. But perhaps it's good enough - I dont know.
Wow. Strange indeed. Sadly I cant help with input... I dont have that error here :( Hmm I normally, for testing, use small maps. I'll try the biggest map after the weekend.
Ehhh I whish I could edit messages here :) "Like in the system-screen to the left" Left??? Right of course. You wont like my driving if I cant tell left from right. Hehe.
Nice. I made an experiment. I edited the English.str and put in translations. In som places the local swedish chars was visible. Like in the system-screen to the left where it shows "Influence:", for example. And at the bottom of the research screen where it says how many months to complete. So it seems that there are one font there that supports it. The rest left to process :) Anyway, I got a big load of: ASSERT ERROR in file c:\projects\pear\source\f
Hmmm tried that, without any success. It all look the same as before. A little strange that the "Initializing Game"-phase repeats in the debug.err Well....shit happens. Guess it could be my eCS-installation that's messy too. I'll try on another comp later. Anyway, the SYS3175 that my popuplog.os2 shows, means " SYS3175: A program in this session encountered a problem and cannot continue. EXPLANATION: An access violation exception occu
Hehe, well, I can live with no confirms, but then it should be called "Quit to main menu" or something like that, IMO anyway. With the current name ppl can make misstakes...
I saw Brad's post in the news-group and decided to try the alpha on my eCS with the latest Odin build. I dont expect stardock putting any recources on it to work, but I wanted to share the experience... Didnt go as I wanted...it loaded a while, annd stole the focus from my command-prompt, but then it crashed. This is the content of the debug.err, created under OS/2: Debug Message: ******* Starting Game Shell ******* Debug Message: Going Fullscreen Debug Message: RGB
Cari: Cool, didnt notice the diffrerence in behaviour. I thought that if one toggled in the planet-view it'd toggle between planets. not that I could choose. logicly Id expect "toggle-arrows" in the system-view to the right if one wants to toggle between systems, but this is fine, as long as one knows it :)
A bit early to post that it's a "bug", but I hope you'll remember to put in "Resume game" at the main menu. If one goes from a game to main menu, it'd be nice to be able to go back to the game.
And while I remember it, how did you decide regarding non-english characters?
Hmm yeah, but is it optimal that way? :)
(or however you spell that, hehe) Are they going to be as now, all set at locations at game start? They could have the ability to slowly float around a little...could vanish after a while and/or to pop up a new one at a random location at a random time in the game. I find it a bit boring as they act now :)
"If I have the planet display up and press the arrows to go to other planets, the system-view on the right doesnt show the same system always. it sorta lags a click." This happens, as far as I can tell, when one have more than one colonized planet in a system.
When I buy a ship, I very often buy the social project instead, by misstake. About 1/3 of the times I buy a ship. Perhaps you can find out a better way of the purchase method or where the button is placed (two?) or something. Or is it just me?
I have a savegame that produces a crash at the tech-selection screen. Stardock SmartException Logging Information 04/03/02 22:29:09 ------------------------------------------------------- Versions: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Build 2600) Internet Explorer 6.0.2600.0000 Video Card : GM3000 (GeForce2 MX/MX 400) Crash Information: Application Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION Crash Addr: 004EA8BB 01:000E98BB D:\program Files\Drengin.n
The ship-detail window show ship-details even when no ship is selected (system selected)
why are there hidden maintenence costs in the social projects? That the only conclusion I can come up with when I tried to do as many social projects there are. Ive done tons now in many systems and have a huge maintenence cost altho I almost havent any military at all. But only one social project has a maintenence fee listed and I havent selected that one on my planets yet. Or do you have another explaination to my high maintenence costs? I currently have 62% tax, 10% spend (54% appro
Had a crash when selecting one avail tech after eachother. crashed on battleship 2-
The new ship-display hides the lowest rightmost corner of the map. Sould have a "autohide" when you scroll down there unless you're planning to solve it in another way.
If I have the planet display up and press the arrows to go to other planets, the system-view on the right doesnt show the same system always. it sorta lags a click.
