I'm not saying that time not is a success-factor, because it often are, I just want to probe it's importance :) I have anotther reflection too regarding this...in Civ3 for example my way of playing is a good working solution for some missions but for other missions a catastrophy. I can imagine a future where it's possible to hook in mission-packs/campaigns into GalCiv. Where the starting situations are different with different goals to achieve for success. There time

Have you any theories how you will measure grades of success, with metaverse in mind? I can only relate to myself. I'm a very slow player, that dont confront the enemy early unless he have a very desireable system. I take my time, explore, research, build defence and social projects, trade, make allies...rather late I attack. Mostly because I enjoy the other stuff more than the attacking. That is how I played the OS/2-version anyway...and enjoyed it. Basicly that's how I play o

What I did was this: I downloaded and install the windowsblinds skin galciv. After that I copied the galciv-directory from the blinds-installation dir to \Drengin.net\skin\ Now you have it all in the \Drengin.net\skin\galciv\ directory. Then I deleted all files in the \Drengin.net\skin\drengin\ After that I copied all files with names starting with galciv to the \Drengin.net\skin\drengin\ directory, started a command-prompt, navigated to that directory and issu

Today. Tommorow. Next week. Next month. Whatever. :) I'm sure they are doing all they can to get the alpha 4 up for DL. Anyway, it's their loss if we cant comment it and find the bugs ;)

Have you decided if the current ship-status display is in the form that you want for the released game? Cause it would be good if the screenshots displays the same thing that are beeing released... IMO anyway...

Afaik, the latest bid is that you get all the games for one year, if GalCiv isnt ready by then your subscription is prolonged until GalCiv is out. Brad, would be great if you could clarify this....before it's get real messy :)

What really wanted to say was that Id like to se specialized ships, so to speak. Not only ships that have def, hp, speed values, but do more than just that. Like the terraformers..and what else we can come up with. It adds a little more depth to the game.

I remember the ship that wiped out an entire system. You could do a "nuke"-ship. It could make the system un-colonizeble for x turns and after that lower the planet classes for Y turns. Just an idea.

He probably referres to the old website, dont you think? I like the current website, but it's not that inspired of the game as the other game-sites, on the other hand - it's easy to navigate, find what you want and very neat and clear. The more game-inspired sites are often more hard to navigate and find what you want.

Ehh never mind. My problem is that DGM hogs the cpu upon startup and dont let me see the games or anything elses. That behaviour started when I installed windowsblinds, desktopx, webblinds and more. I uninstalled them but the behaviour persists. I solved it by reenable the skinning of DGM. Now it works fine. Ive always run the DGM "deskinned" before, but I prolly need to get used to the skinned look :(

Ummm I prolly need to reinstall dgm. Where was it, again? :) Cant find the forum-message now... Please, pretty please with sugar on top?

I think it's a good idea :) Altho the current way works fine too.. Furthermore, if you are going to stay with the concept of having a startplanet called earth, it'd be great if you could have it in a system with 8 more planets, names and appearance like the real ones.
