Ehh it's turn-based, not real-time. ~SDC~
The UI shifts depending how the game develops. If you choose the evil paths, the UI turns into the red you can see in the screenshots. When going for the good path it turns white. With different buttons and tech-robots and such. ~SDC~
It's been friday a looong time in europe now ;p ~SDC~
Please consider changing this to a format that SDC can detect and put the files where they are supposed to be. Just need label the .zip-files as .gcz or something and accociating SDC with it. The current unzip and place in different folders is gonna be too hard for some I think. ~SDC~

Thanks! Any other new forums planned before the release?
Ehh played the first OS/2-version of GalCiv. Liked it and the other OS/2-software SD made. Have had an eye on stardocks webpage, news-server and newsletters ever since.
You can get it the 26th by purchasing the Drengin network (and getting a few other games too) or GalCiv only - direct from Stardock. With both options you download it over the net. If you buy GalCiv only, you can get it shipped to you as well, for additional 10 dollars. Wont get you the retail box tho. ~SDC~
Stardock Central (SDC) is the tool that Stardock uses to distribute applications, upgrades and patches to their customers. It's an application you install and through you can install the programs you have bought, or apply upgrades. It also have a built-in IRC client so you can chat on stardocks irc-server - and a forum-browser, so you can access their forums easy. One program, many features :)

Cool. Big thanks. Well enough resolution for me. Was just curious. :) ~SDC~
Nidaros: What if you enter this info into SDC: proxy address: www-proxy.uu.se proxy port: 3128 Its from your proxy.pac file, Im not that good at reading it but I think it might work. ~SDC~

That's strange.. At the strategy First website, they state: Minimum System Requirements Windows 98/Me/2000/XP PII 300 MHz Processor, 128 MB RAM, 600 MB Hard Disk Space, DirectX 7.0 Compatible Video Card with 4 MB VRAM and Monitor capable of supporting 1024x768 resolution. That info seems more real, why is there two minimum requirements out there?
Im playing it on a 400MHz, alto I dont play on the biggest galaxies, but it works fine. Where did you see the 600Mhz requirement-notice?
Who are "they"? The games are developed by two completely different companies. They just happens to use the same distributor to produce the CD's and ship the games to the stores.
Lol, I'd settle for the english version. It's only the retail box I'm after. Need something to put on the shelf at home, and to show friends :) btw, congrats on the gold-day. I look forward to read the user responces on the release date.
Does anyone have a picture of it? It'd be nice to see how it look..
I whish it was on the shelves worldwide at that date. Any news about the schedule for the rest of the world? Found any distributor, or is it going to be Infogrames there too?
In short: 1) There is a auto-retreat option at the ship-commands but Ive never used it so I dont know if it does what you want. 2) No borders like that in this game. Several races can have systems and starbases in the same quadrant. 3) You can switch gov-type, but the votes may go against you - in that case you cant switch. 4) Sure, you can attack - or work harder on your diplomacy. The AI can get problems and need to focus on other things, so it destibilazing you isnt exactly as
hehe I do like the cut-scenes, but people that arent inte TBS-type of games (like my co-workers) are hard to impress since they compare to the latest games with horiffic hw requirements. Not saying I would whish GalCiv had that too. The current level of prettyness/graphics/hw req is very well balanced IMO. But - for a strategy fan the game is so much more than a pretty outside. Not that it isnt important to attract new audiences. But it's under the hood GalCiv is world-class, IMO.
