There are some improvements that increases the planet-class, for example: Soil Enhancement (from start) Habitat improvement (early) Terraforming Terraforming is the best of these but it's quite long down the tech tree. The reason you have a morale/population/production problem with the lowerclass planets is that ppl arent that confortable living and working in deserts, planets with +500 degrees celcius, and such - even if you force them to build a colony there.

I got them to grovel when I declared on them. So I traded all their research and tradegoods for peace. However, I think the tradegoods may have vanished. If I go to the speak-to screen, niether me or the Bradians have them listed.

Ah, ok - sure. I could try that. My reserve-plan was to get to work tomorrow and play from there, where SE work :) But your plan was a bit better IMO, if it gets you about the same data as SE gives, that is.

You can increase spendrate and adjust the social/military/research sliders. Altho, if you choose to colonize a planet with too low planetclass they wont be able to have any production there, so that may be a cause. I never colonize planets below 14 myself. And seldom less than 15.

Ahh, yeah had one crash just now. The last lines were: Debug Message: Getting Parent Star: 2 Debug Message: Getting Parent Star: 2 Debug Message: Getting Parent Star: 7 So no indication of such error then I suppose? While checking the debug.err, I found these: Debug Message: Scanning Models. ASSERT ERROR in file c:\projects\pear\source\model2d.cpp at line 2400. Debug Message: Animation Small has 17 frames of animation, which does

I go a defender from an anomoly. The minimap showed that I could only send it to the SOL-quadrant. Never tried my other system in another quadrant. Then I got a crash due to something else, and reloaded galciv - the minimap showed that I could take the defender to any of my two systems. Could be a USS Defender fortune bug or moer likely a refresh thing with the minimap. Anyway, it could be a good idea to autorefresh the minimap on events such as anomaly surveys.

I just got an alliance victory. I got all major races and all minor except one to defect their systems to me, due to cultural advantage. To make sure I wouldnt make an alliance victory with the only race left - a minor, I traded war against the minor with the last living major just before they defected. That is - I traded war against the minor on both sides. Shouldnt make an alliance win then, should it?
