How boring isnt it to wait for the other human players in a turn-based game? Id never play multi either.

Hmm, awsome is a pretty strong word.. I'd say that they are good or ok. They have a purpose and they fill it. The rest is awsome, but that's another issue :) I like the intro-movie but when showing my co-workers they werent _so_ impressed. But on the other hand they may just be tired of all my ranting about GalCiv since I first showed them what I spent my gaming time on over a year ago :)
they are very, very different
I'll prolly buy it off the shelf too. Even tho I have it already. Me want the box. LOL
The betas was open to download for people that preordered the game. But it's closed now, since the beta-period is over. GalCiv is released next month.
lol, I am bringing a laptop, but only a tiny one - so I can update my webpage with pics and texts from the trip. Just so my friends can see how nice it is beeing away from snow and cold weather. :)
On tuesday I'm going to New Zealand on a vacation-trip and wont be back until the end of January. So I whish ya all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Damn, no GalCiv for over a month. Gaah!! :)
Another time,. when testing they wanted money for free. Altho every other time testing I get a crash. Have savegame to send if ya want it. (Cari?)
" I saw it was sol in the bottom-right corder where items to trace is located. " Should, ofcourse be I saw it was sol in the bottom-right corner where items to trade is located. Duh
Hmm my autosave was from right that point, so I got to crash again by loading the game and then press turn. With a few tries I got past it tho, and then I got a message from a race demanding my Sol system for free. Altho in the text in the message, Sol was replaced with (null). I saw it was sol in the bottom-right corder where items to trace is located.

Btw - One of the two times I had a huge load of "pathfinding taking too long" in the debug.err (even tho I played tiny or small) But not the other time.
Ive had two lockups too. Sadly I see nothing in common comparing those two lockups.
just a little comment...with earlier bugs regarding to sticky turn-button, you should be able to work around it by hitting enter.
No. Only screenshots, and a teaser at Strategy First website. A demo will be released close to the releasedate of the game.
I was trading techs with drengin, and just pressed the trade-button. Hmmm, well, I guess I was closest civ morally. A lotta turns afterwords (with the loaded game where they didnt surrender to me) they surrendered to teh Torian. Hmm wonder why they gave up. Torian wasnt in any quadrant near them either.
This time I got the message that the Drengin have revolted and taken the name Drengin Peace...somthing. I clicked the only dringin system (playing on the small map) and the speak-to button. (both the symbol and the picture was the normal drengin one, not a minor race symbol) When I exited (or if I pressed the turn-button, dont remember) it crashed. Hmm the Bradian AI just gave up and gave me their system. Altho, they had a very high-quality planet and I wasnt in any quadrant near him with systems or starbases. Hmm. I loaded the autosave and checked the influence values, I was the third place in that quadrant in influence, the top civ had over 3 times my value. However, the Bradian AI didnt give up this time. So I'll wait and see what happens. The Brad AI has the highest pop in the quadrant (and the ones next to it too. About three times hi
Umm it happened when I pressed the turn-button. The same turn I traded ships and techs - both with minors and majors.

I think I might have already reported this, but here it goes: I play with autoturn off. I just got a ship out of a anomaly, and moved that ship - the game advanced one turn. Or that's how it seemed anyway since many ship that had moved before got to move again (on autopilot).
Not mentioning the minor (kidding) new features Metaverse and United Planets :)
Well, I disagree :) Most of the things you mention are just extra ships, social improvements and research items. Not extra functionality. In the windows-version you have new features like influence and starbases. Along with a huge graphic improvement and a few more races :) My guess is that the extra ships and IMPs are ready to ship, but as they dont need any testing (not including any new functions) SD chooses not to release them yet. My guess anyway. Altho the OS/2 v
I think you can order GalCiv/2 Gold http://www.stardock.com/products/gcgold/ by contacting [email protected] However, the windows beta is way passed that game by now. It's a bit like comparing the first doom-game with Quake 3. Even tho it's a few months away from the release.
