Ummm I'll go for beyond human now and see what happens.
I thought that the game was about to end when I researched a tech that said (in capitals) "You have won by beeing evil" or something like that. However - it contiues..
no 2 goes for systems as well, I just got a ship placed ontop of an enemy system..
1. The ship only attacks once, no matter how much moves left. 2. If the ship attacks a enemy ship where it has a few ones on the same tile, it moves onto that tile after killing one ship. So both mine and my enemy ships are on the same tile even tho we are at war.
LOL! Approx five turns later the speak-to screen pop'ed up and they were groveling :) Me like that alot!!! Yet - I didnt attack them at all. Gonna leave it at war to see what happens next
I have a defender, a battleship and an overlord in orbit of every system. Ive made no aggressive moves at all in this game. Then Altarian decides to attack me. They dont have that kind of tech and their military might is about 30% of mine. They cant hurt my overlords. And I dont have any starbases or ships not in orbit. Why do they attack? Fools. Btw, I didnt get any message that they declared war. Just saw an attack on-screen and went to the foreign relations screen
I have a project named "Artificial Slaves" in the list, but when I click it the info-box and progress bar says "Micro repair bots". I cant get it off the list by researching it.
Ehh, playign true evil for the firt time. Just lost planetclass points on all planets. My top planet had 45, now it's a 36. Why?
Hehe Ive put together a litle race comparison chart with pics from the OS/2-verstions and the windows version. Havent updated it since the alpha, so the pics have grown a little bit better by now.. http://home.jacobsson.nu/galciv/ A little nostalgia...
Know what you mean. I still plays the OS/2-version a little. Have OS/2 on a new laptop (P800 or something) as well as an old P90.
If you mean email, it's too big. If you mean normal mail, Im sure they can send you a CD with it, but it would be better to solve the DGM issue so you can recieve updates as they release new stuff every now and then.
Hmm at least you have the right version. Well, if you cant get the proxy-settings to work, I suppose SD need to do a bughunt on the DGM. It's also beta as you might have noticed :) Hmm do you get any text in the news-section in DGM? The groups-section?
Also, which version of DGM do you have? (Help -> About)
Normally DGM fetches the proxy-settings from Internet Explorer. So if IE works, then DGM should too. Otherwise you might want to try to configure it manually under Options -> Proxy server. Dont forget to add the portnumber in the addrss-field, like: 10.1.1.1:8080 for server 10.1.1.1 and port 8080 If you dont log on the the proxy, just ignore the username and password.
Getting about 1-2 crashes per hour of play. All non-reproducable with savegames and no apparent logic. Since Smartexception dont work I cant help out. The debug.err gives no clues.
Itäs supposed to be grayed out. Are you behind a proxy? Firewall? Something is apparently stopping the DGM client to connect to the servers. Thats why you get such crazy expire-date.
The small amount of memory might be a problem, but otherwise it's ok. And about graphics, if you can set the card to 1024x768 with 16bit colors - it'll do. No 3d-card required for this game. Perhaps someone could confirm if the memory is ok?
Hehehe. good. I'll stop :)
*bump back into the list* Just another reminder :)
Frogboy: Well, I dont have that bug number, but it still doesnt fit.. http://home.jacobsson.nu/galciv/gcsocial.JPG
If you mean the DGM, it can be found in the downloads-section at drengin.net Click downloads on the left side at www.drengin.net
Naah it was more the installer that was made with a screw-up. We all have the links but no docs. All docs avail this far is on the web under "Encyclopedia".
Ah sure. I had all sectors :) But Ive had that for a number of turns, that's why I dindt payed any attention to it. But it sounds as that could be it then.
Yeah, I saw someone from SD confirming this in another thread. It's the space in the name.
