The new GCTech.TECH file fixed the problem. Thanks
John Sherrill
Every time I click on Battleship 2 Research the game traps. I have sent a smartexception report in. This is reproduceable.
Thanks, that is helpful, especially the engineering info
What is the explaination of the tech bonus's? What each mean and what go you get by having a certain value in each.
After a while in the game you have a lot of ships you no longer need. Is there a way to get rid of them?
I understand your formula, however when I look a star system to see the planets, it seems most show zero resources on the display. They all have something for influence but most (maybe all) have nothing for resources.
What controls weither a planet has resources or not?
Got the SmartException and will try to see what I can capture for you. As for the auto-pilot, I only had auto-pilot turned on for one ship yet when it got to its destination it seems that auto-pilot turned on for the other ship as it started for the same destination.
Yes, I get them almost every game I play
Several times in a game I saw ships (not mine) that appeared to be attacking each other but they would for many many keep doing the same thing. What it looked like was the two ships where beside each other facing away from each other. Then the would both spin 180 degrees to face each other the move like to attack then spin 180 degrees apart then go back to where the started. No attack noises. This happened until a third ship came and killed those two.
If I have two ships like at the begining of the game and I put one in autopilot, select where I want it to go then press turn until it gets there. If I press turn one more time the other ship seems to be selected and if I set a new autopilot target, the othe ship moves to it as I press turn rather than the one I originally put in autopilot. Is this how it is supposed to work. Also if I play the game for a while (guess is > 100 turns) just as it starts to get interesting the game jus
Frogboy, I think most of my percepitions of complications are because ship movement is so different. I am still getting used to it.
The Prefs.ini was not read only. I changed it. Thanks. Some mentioned you (Cari) had a trap tool that could identify what might be causing the program to just go away.
I have several comments on the 3b build. I a new to the alpha this time around so forgive me if I repeat things others have said. I used to play the OS/2 version of the game the alot. I found it easy to play and understand. With this new version it seem much more complicated. There is so much information to look at. I suspect that when there is help or a manual that much of it will become clearer. I have managed to make ships move and more or less figured out how make things work
I would love to be in alpha 3b. I am in drengin.net and have been almost since the start. Would use the forums to voice my opinions. I do see bugs also
Looking forward to it, and hope I am added
