Yep, the space sharks are very nasty and very hard to beat. Someone posted an idea to lead them to the evil alien and see they might cause him damage. A little good news is that you don't often see the space sharks.

Planets below 15 are very risky as you have found out. The morale for them is very had to keep high enough so that they do not defect. One possiblity would be to buy outright or lease the soil upgrade and habit improvement rather than build them slowly. Other idea would be just stay away from planets that low.

If you attack a planet with your ships no combat shows. If you are strong enough the shield on that planet disappears after you have destroyed the ships orbitting the planet. If you are not strong enough then your ships explode and disappear. If you attack a ship in space you will see the ships fire at each other. ~SDC~

No way to keep them from gettin the planent other thatn to attack and destory the other colony ship. But then you are at war with that civilization. Best option would be to build (or buy/lease) colony ship and get there first.

If you download the windowed version it does not overlay the full screen version so you will still have both and can run either. I also run on a 19in monitor at 1280 by 1024 and both versions seem fine to me. ~SDC~

Built my first terror star. Cool looking. Since I was at war with the Torians I thought I'ld try it out. It only moves one movement a turn. Since the closest Torian planet was at least 5 sectors away, the way was long over by the time the terror star got to its destination. It is a great weapon, but takes way to long to get anywhere to be of much value.
