ClearType font smoothing is a function of Windows, not WindowBlinds. WindowBlinds can apparently take advantage of cleartype to improve performance, but you have to enable it in Windows first. Open your Display Properties and click on the Appearance tab. Then click the Effects button. On the dialog window that opens, check the second checkbox (labeled "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts") and select ClearType from the drop-down menu.

Don't get too hung up on the look. XP went through many looks during its development. I expect they are more focussed on layout and functionality than the interface graphics at this point. Regardless, I can't wait to skin it.

Aha, I see now. After I loaded DX Builder, I had to import the memory meter widget into it. Then I was able to edit the performance meter settings and re-export a repaired widget. (thanks c242 and Alternate Setting)

Mine is stuck at 39% as well. Alternate Setting, no matter where I right-click on the widget, all I get is the widget context menu with close, about, and properties choices. There are no options in the widget properties related to performance meter settings.

I would say that either platform is equally capable and it's really just a matter of which one you are more comfortable with. If you already know PHP or ASP, I'd go with what you know. PHP can also be run on Windows, so you aren't restricted to Linux if you want to use it.

carolelee, I don't know Stardock's exact policy on this, but maybe you should send them an email and give it until Monday when they get back to work. The "a promise is a promise, no matter what!" thing sounds quite dramatic, but I don't recall reading anywhere that buying WindowBlinds got you unlimited downloads forever. You've downloaded over 2 GB, by the way.
