At best, WindowBlinds can only skin what is there. It can't add any features to your command prompt, like backgrounds, transparency, or fonts. You would be better off using a third party program for that (I like eConsole), which WindowBlinds may have an easier time skinning. I am using the latest build, and my command prompt is skinnned. However, that checkbox does say "Skin Co

Most skinners make skins that they themselves would want to use. Many skinners start skinning because they can't find enough of what they like. That said, maybe it's time to crack open a graphics program and see what you can do.

All the program does is safely replace your boot screen for you. It isn't running all the time or eating up any precious resources. You can't simply replace a file like the Windows 95/98 days.

Butch, I fail to see anything Japanese or Chinese about any of the links you posted. Does brushed metal make you think of the Orient or is this just shameless self promotion?

Here are a couple Chinese themed WindowBlinds skins that came to mind. https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=3601&LibID=1 https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=4311&LibID=1

It is my understanding that WC has been down the sports team road before and organizations were opposed to the use of their logos, leading us to no longer accept them. Until we hear something similar from the auto industry, fan art using car logos will probably not be rejected on that point alone. We try to be as open as possible until it becomes a liability for WinCustomize.

I guess it all comes down to who's more protective of their logos, and who doesnt care? That's part of the equation. It also matters whether you created the logo 100% yourself, or if it was copied and pasted from somewhere else. As long as you created it from scratch, it can fall under the definition of "fan art". Fan art will usually be accep

Something to keep in mind... Porting is when you take someone's work from one format, and reassemble it in some other format (with permission, of course). That would include converting an msstyle to WindowBlinds, or making an IconPackage out of a bunch of lose icons. However, simply uploading someone's wallpaper directly is not porting. If the work involved is nothing more than downloading from one site and uploading to another, I'd say skip it. Also, you might want to try and convinc

A PM system has been discussed and may be added at a later date. Kona, you must remember that this site is custom written and not some template you plug your graphics into. I don't mean to imply that those template based sites are inferior, but it is an apples to oranges comparison. More features will come with time. Many web site bugs don't present themselves until you have a few thousand people hitting the site every second. As for contacting authors, you may be able to find their e

I'll be the first to admit you shouldn't take legal advice from me. The topic just had me a bit hot under the coller. If there's one thing I won't tolerate, it's intolerance. I'm not completely off the mark though. There are many types of speech that are not protected by the Constitution. The courts have been debating it for decades. Feel free to read up on it if you're interested. <A href="http://

I read about this on CNN and I was truly disgusted. It was the kind of thing that engraged me to the point that I wanted to go down to New York and crack some skulls myself. From what I read, I got the impression that this morning show has a history of racism and bigotry. It's incredibly shameful. Sure, the US Constitution protects free speech, but it does not protect hate speech. Those involved should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and not a single one of them should be gi

In all seriousness, we do our best to filter out all "naked chick" wallpapers, logons, bootskins, etc. WinCustomize's policy is that we are a family friendly site and such material is not welcome here. If you have encountered something that slipped under the radar though, please point it out, preferably by emailing a moderator so as not to single anyone out in a public thread. You can find a list of moderator email addresses on the right column of this page: <A href="https://www.wincustomize.com

Stardock does indeed make such software. It's called DirectSkin, and it uses the same skin format as WindowBlinds. In a nut shell, the software developer includes the DirectSkin OCX in their application, which makes it skinnable. The developer can choose whether they want to allow the user to select skins, or if they just want to use a single skin. As far as I know, it does not require the developer to re-write the software. They simply need to recompile it with the DirectSkin OCX. You

You used to be able to select your title in your account settings, but it hasn't been added to the new site yet. The titles are separate from user classes (such as citizen, apprentice, journeyman, etc.) and purely for appearance. Each user class comes with a set of titles to choose from, including all of the titles from the classes before it. So a citizen has a few titles available, an apprentice can pick from those titles plus additional titles, journeymen can select from all of those titles

Tim, the new site looks great. It's clean as a whistle, lightweight, and easy to find your way around ... very classy. I must say, you probably have the most impressive library of WB skins of any individual ever. I'm going to go update your link button on SkinPlant now. By the way, I like the way our balls rotate on your site too. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" border
