There has never been a WB Lite as far as I know. WB does have a setting, however, to not skin XP specific features. If you check that off, resources will not be devoted to skinning your taskbar and start menu.

If you are talking about masks in WindowBlinds skins, they are used for custom color support. The mask tells WindowBlinds which areas to colorize and how much. Black areas of the mask are not colored at all, and white areas are colored 100%.

Duncan, it's not so much that memebers know each other (although many do), but more that we are all pretty friendly. You make a couple of posts, and people get used to seeing your name, and the next thing you know, they are talking to you like old friends. We're just nice here, that's all. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/image

First off, I think it's clear that the majority of posts are new users who can't figure something out. Given the general focus and clarity of the typical newbie post, I doubt that their choice of message board would be very accurate anyway. If we had two sections, then the person who doesn't know you need a program to use a skin is probably just going to post in both places. Of course, Jafo could always clean those up, but I don't think we need to create any more work for him. <img src="http

There are boot screens, and then there are logon screens. For logon screens, you do need Logon Studio. As for boot screens, there are none on this site. Where did you get it? Was there any information there on how to install it? Maybe you can contact the author for help. I am weary of running executables from an unknown source myself. /me tends to assume that when someone asks to be emailed, it means they have no intention of returning to the message board <A HREF="https://www.w

I agreed with davad70 100%. That's exactly how I started. And as for discouraging, I must have opened SkinStudio for 30 minutes and given up a dozen times before I finally started to make one. I began with the luna skin, replacing images and using the originals as templates to get the right sizes. Then I started tweaking attributes to see what they would do. I asked a few questions about specific things that were confusing, and the next thing I knew, I had made my first skin. O

I typically respond right in the same comments area, unless they have asked to be emailed. There is no facility for sending comments directly to users here ... yet.

It's on an American cable TV channel called TechTV. Not all cable providers carry it, and if you're outside of the US, I don't know if you can get it at all. Maybe it is available on satellite television, but I don't know. They probably have more information on their Web site. http://www.techtv.com/techtv/ <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser!"

When you purchase Object Desktop, all you download is the Component Manager. Then, you need a username and password to log into that and download the apps, which will not install unless you have Component Manager installed as well. So, even if someone got a copy of your software, it would be useless without your account info. I suppose if it became obvious that your account was being abused, Stardock could get you to change your password, or disable it. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.

It would require getting to know SkinStudio a little bit and making the button graphic. But, in a nutshell, you would add a new titlebar button to the skin in SkinStudio and assign it the Minimize to Tray action. Obviously this isn't the solution you were looking for, but I thought I'd offer it in case it could help. You can look at my Subterfuge skin for and example. It has a sub-design that inclu

I believe the question posed here was not "should 98\Me support be phased out" but rather "when should it be phased out". It is inevitable that an old OS will stop being supported eventually. When was the last time anyone ran Windows 95 and expected any kind of real support? Windows XP is still a reletively new OS, so I would say give it another year. But, everyone should be aware the XP does everything 98 did, but with the stability of Windows 2000. In my opinion, everyone running 98\Me should
