I think this article rather misses the point of the joke, which is that nobody actually knew what was the question to which 42 was the answer. "What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything?" is far too vague a question to have a meaningful answer. After the answer "42" was revealed, a new project had to be started to find the question to which it was the answer - but the question was never discovered. Douglas Adams was pointing out the foolishness of demanding answers to non-q

A little late on the post here, but although messing with the registry can be dangerous. It will be safe to mess with if you don't have important stuff on the computer your afraid to loose. If you mess with the registry and are unfamiliar about it, make sure you do it immediately after a fresh install. The only way to know the registry, is to try to mess around with it. Read up on what others do to the registry, try it and see what happens. The key thing is to make a back up of it. <br
just the core pieces of Object Desktop: WindowBlinds, IconPackager, DesktopX, SoundPackager, MyColors, DeskScapes.
The true core pieces of skinning are Windowblinds, Icon Packager, CursorFX, Logon Studio and maybe DesktopX (only because of widget use), Theme Manager/Mycolors to collect and manage the user created themes. It’s a shame that the CursorFX and ObjectDock programs are not offered in the Object Desktop suite. Judging by the screenshots, they tell you that Window
What if no one rates a skin, or not enough people? What if someone has a bee up their bonnet and decides to rate everything a 1 and that is the tipping point? Zoomba in regards to your post about the crap thats submitted, I whole heartedly agree with you. I and everyone else who takes this seriously would no doubt not only agree with you but would insist a moderation at this level always be in place and encourage those papers be sent to the submitters personal site.(just so others can see by happenstance what someone did) But i have seen some walls that were rejected in which the person took sometime to create. I think less moderation on this, i th
I'm not going to make someone slog through 100 MS paint/clip art/bryce walls to find a single skin, cursor or icon package. I guess that's another interesting question: Should we remove wallpapers from the "Newest" and "Recently Updated" pages, and allow them through unmoderated?
My suggestion earlier was to allow the rating system decide what would stay... like anything less than a set score would be deleted or sent to the submitters private page after set amount of tim

why not let the people who use the site be the judge? why not let all the wallpapers submitted get displayed for a short time in the gallery and then depending on the ratings it gets decides if it remains or get put on to the submitters private page. that way everyone has a chance to see it and the submitter will get some feedback from the community? we claim to be a community, in fact we all had a discussion about this ealier this week. let the community decide what should or should not be

Well I think the current system doesn't work, and nor did the old way. We have a way to sort the wallpapers by a catagory of numbers downloaded, featured, even sort by rated. Get the users to use the rating system. But a wallpaper I might find to go along perfect w
