Remember this is a BETA, you paid for the release version. This is NOT the release version. There are going to be bugs that need to be fixed still.
OD2 has been "in beta" for over three years now. In fact, it has been three years BETWEEN beta releases. The really big unspoken question is how long will it be until the next build addresses the new bugs? [e digicons];P[/e]
Yes, but only if You have the dock at the bottom. And it is 3rd party + not maintained since months.
And the latest version doesn't work in multimonitor configurations. Even if the dock and icon are on monitor 2, for example, the fan/grid opens up way over on monitor 1. 8P I found an old version of Stacks that did work, but it's got bugs and is not feature complete (being an old version). Very much a hack.
Ooh, I found another bug! Seems to be related to the 64 bit app issue I mentioned in a prior post. This time, the "running indicator" doesn't come on for the 64 bit version of Newsbin Pro, but it does for 32 bit applications. Even when the program is launched from the dock, it doesn't see the application's "hooks". I am sure that all three issues (no icons/can't fix icons, no thumbnails of windows in running tasks, and no running indicators) are all related. 8)</
I'm running into an inability to change icons on some running apps. I can confirm this with the 64 bit version of Newsbin Pro (Windows 7 x64). When I select "Dock Icon properties", I get an error requester saying "ObjectDock cannot access information about this window. It is likely that it has been ran (sic) as Administrator while ObjectDock has not." Running both/neither application as Administrator has made no difference. Note that the Show Windows as Thumb
I saw it but I don't see why someone would need this. Anybody?
Well, it's basically a full on version of the icon transparency option. If you wanted a REALLY clean desktop, this would let your entire dock be invisible until you moved your mouse into the area. For me, I think I will use it to replace some semi-transparent fences I have. I want some things "on hand" but not always in my fac
Well, it loaded my previous monster 6 dock three monitor config just fine, only breaking on the stacks docklet custom icons...which have always been touchy. 8) The ghost effect is very interesting. Not sure if I am going to use it or not, but...very nice new feature. Reflections need to be added to default zoomers, of course. This would also allow them to be dialed in separately from the background. For example, I have configs where

Note that by copying a new renamed version of a given dream into the Dream directory (say Photodream-B, Photodream-C, etc.) you can have different settings/backgrounds/etc. for each monitor's dream in a multimonitor environment. I am running my tri-monitor setup that way, so that each monitor is Photodream'ing a different image. In my case, I selected the same tiling background for all three, so that while the animating image is different on each screen, the background looks sea
Um, THE CORE came out YEARS after the leak of AVATAR's scriptment. To claim Jim ripped off Unobtanium (which is actually a homage to Arthur C. Clark's RAMA series) a decade before the hackfest like THE CORE was even conceived is just utter crapola. It's a CLASSIC story, masterfully told, and yes that means many other people have used similar ideas...ESPECIALLY in science fiction.
This seems to have fixed the previous 1.24 beta issues! Well done. 8) PS Synergy hasn't been updated since 2006...that's even longer than ObjectDock2! So, while it may be your only alternative for niche operating systems, I would still recommend Multiplicity for mainstream Windows users.
I was prompted to uninstall on the secondary. Note that Multiplicity has now failed utterly for me on these two machines. I've even uninstalled the 1.24 beta, turned off prereleases in impulse, and went back to 1.22 on both machines...no luck. Multiplicity is deader than Duke Nukem right now. 8( EDIT: Today's 2/22 non-prerelease 1.22 version solved the problem for me, but I had to turn off "Show Prerelease Versions" to get
My impulse is also saying I must uninstall the previous version before I can install the 2/18 release. I've never had to do that, so I am going to wait on this update a bit based on this thread. I'm running MP Pro and impulse says "previous version installed" in the main window.
You can only connect 3 monitors at any given time to this card. There is an upcoming version that will support Eyefinity6 for 6 monitors at once.
Hey thanks, I didn't know that was there either...and ObjectDock is my biyatch! [e digicons]:D[/e]
No GPS is a dealbreaker for me. The way I would want to use this, as a "take anywhere" device, just doesn't work without GPS. Other surprising disappointments on the released version were... A) 64 gb max...are you kidding me? B) not OSX/intel, so I can't really run anything I'd want to on it C) no camera at all, and i thought it would have two--one for video conferencing, another for taking pictures D) too thick, but I knew the OLED screens aren't
The Watercolor Dream is not working at all. The same behavior happened with previous betas if one tries to turn on an effect with any dream other than a video dream. They all choke the same way...re: black screen on monitor, still on preview. But in this case, the preview works for Watercolor Dream, but it doesn't work on any monitor or combination thereof. 8(
"If you have multiple gpus then you only need to set a copy on the non primary adapter. If the primary is running two screens then setting both to the same dream would be more efficient than setting a copy to each." Assuming you wanted the exact same image playing on both screens in sync. As for me, I want each of three monitor to be playing a different instance of PhotoDream. 8)
Debug new Dream notes: Watercolor and Water Dream doesn't work on any of three monitors, as mentioned above. Copper Pool, Winter Snow, Desktop Earth, Desktop Slideshow seem to work but there if you try too many combinations under multiGPU you can cause the second and third monitors to start flashing. 8) Logging off then on again to reset things seems to do the trick in fixing such confusion. PhotoDream works fabulously, even keeping separate settings for each instance copied into the
YAY!!!!!!! The new beta solved the CPU/explorer.exe issues for me completely. As long as I create three versions of Photodream (just by copying and renaming), and then assigning each one to a different monitor, there is no explorer.exe performance hit, etc. etc. \ My dwm.exe use is 10%-ish with three complete dreams playing on 30", 30", and 24" monitors. 8))))))

YEEHAW! I created a second PhotoDream by renaming it, then dropping into the dreams directory. And now I can have TWO photodreams playing, one per monitor, each with different random image sequences. 8))))))))) CPU usage is nada, so I will be doing the acid test on the triple display tonight... UPDATE! The new beta solved these issues for me completely on my uber 3 monitors, 2 GPU system. As long as I create three versions of Photodream (just by
While it's saying 1/14/2010 in Impulse, it's not updating this as a beta, etc. I uninstalled the current version then install this dated version and it doesn't look like these are new files as they are all dated from November.
