Great skin, just love MyColors, guess that is why i have so many themes, this one is great, love the Alien theme things,
If it jams, force it, if it breaks it needed replacing anyway
Oh no i am doomed now, Murphys Law, i am the one responsible for this LOL
Once again, i would like to thank everyone for such friendly and caring posts, things like this make you feel so good, sure does to me, of course i will continue to think i am the only granparent in the world LOL,
forgot to add, just being careful is good, like most posters above have stated, but i do like AVG, a couple false positives here and there just after installing, but thats it, so there is my 2 cents for AVG, enough so i bought it. AVG has a Link Scanner and Web Scanner, i had nothing but problems with these, so i turn them off, oh and i spend most of my time here on Stardock/Wincustomize (seeing i have no life LOL) and sports sites,
I use AVG 8.0, windows defender, Vista Firewall, am running Vista Ultimate 32, since its release, and i have yet to be infected, AVG has found virii, ( after my children have used it-even though they are adults) I had been using McAfee (free suite for Comcast users) but it is such a resource hog, added 30 seconds to boot time)
believe it or not, i still have my first computer, it is a Packard Bell 386SX with 4 mb of ram, and still running DOS 6.2 and Windows 3.1 granted i havent turned it on in almost a year, but i know it will still run, also it had a whopping 40 mb hard drive,(course that is toast) but i did learn on pcs running dos 3.3 funny cause i still to this day remember all those command lines
Starkers question for you , i see your rrom Australia, do you folks have similar problems down their with your politiicians that us up here in the US dont hear about?? is it the same everywhere you go i am wondering???
One thing i realized years ago, when i did union work ( i worked for the state of MA) how powerless you are against these corrupt organizations, as one person with a complaint, of course these bailouts are a much bigger scale, but same scenario
I wish all that i just read was not true, but deep down inside i know that it is, what bothers me, is they bail out these big companies, and the family down the street cant make a mortgage payment and lose their home, makes me sick
the networks have to scramble now to fill up all that lost election ad revenue, thank god i dont have to watch another political ad anymore, between Toyota commercials and political ads, i dont know which one has driven me crazier
Lets face one thing, Obama has inherited one huge mess, kind of like your friend coming over your house, and messing up your room every night for eight years, then he moves
Now that you mention it, mine kind of does the same thing, although i never gave it any thought until now, now i watch and wait LOL, no big deal whats a few seconds, we are all in so much of a hurry all the time,
I just downloaded v 0.92 via impulse to check it out this weekend, i have learned in the past that u never install beta software, late at night, hence u end up staying up all night,
a thought, how about that cd drive, maybe a piece of dust on the laser, just a thought, i had a similar problem a few years back and used a can of that compressed air to blow out the cd/dvd drive, obviously at this point its worth a shot
Happy Halloween, and be safe all of you, alothough it is a "shaky" looking crowd going on there LOL
Once again thanks so much to everyone, what a nice feeling it is to get comments here on it, i know it sounds silly, but i guess you could say i am like "giddy" all the time, i never in my wildest dreams, thought it would be like this, once again, thanks so much all of you,
I have used Vista Ultimate since its release, and i love it, and have had very very few problems, unlike XP when it first came out, maybe i am just lucky, but it works extremely well, and i do suppose when 7 comes out i will more than likely dig deep into the wallet and buy it
Thank you guys so much, i really appreciate it, and i have to say again, "what a feeling" indescribable
Looks like one mighty fine check coming his way LOL
I think i have been using this site long enough now to qualify for an announcement LOL, well the announcement is On October 16th 2008, my first grandchild was born, a baby girl, 6lbs,7oz 18" and goes by the name of Chloe, and i am still in a state of amazement, my god what a feeling and nothing better than to share it, now i know how first time grandparents feel and why they brag about it, and this being a great bunch of people on here, i needed to tell all of you,
In some ways it reminds me of Windows 3.1? not sure it has been a while, amazing how much we forget as technology moves forward, one thing i never forgot what and is the best DOS, i always loved it, taught my children on it in the late 80's and early 90's oh i just had to reminice a little bit when i saw fences, and by the way i do like very much, and cant wait for the release
I guess it depends on the load, and time of day, as of right now it is flying by for me, no problems at all
now it is time for WSI (Wincustomize Scene investigation (another version of CSI) to investigate these recent events
