So can we expect Steve to write something so heart wrenching for Dharmagirl and JillUser? Or does he only write this stuff for women who are unable to rise above being perpetual victims of their own foolishness?

What do you call someone who, when confronted with a bully, chooses to give in to the bully's demands without a struggle? Answer: A coward. Sadly, the Spanish people have expressed their collective cowardice by switching, after the unjustified attack on their people, from a government commited to battling bullies to one that appeases them. Lesson learned? Murder innocents prior to an election and you stand a chance to influence their election
They call it the stomach flu. But it's not really that. It's an intestinal virus. And if that's not bad, how you catch it is actually worse. Suffice to say it's not airborn. I don't know how I get it. I don't undrestand why so many people get it. But I've got it and some of my coworkers have gotten it. Not from me. But from their kids just like I probably somehow got mine from my kids. Kids are plague bags! Yuck though as I just can't wait to
For kicks I thought it might be fun to see how much different sites appreciate the artists who make stuff in the form of comments on a skin. So I went to the WindowBlinds sections here, the visual style section on dA, and the vs section on ThemeXP. Here's what I found by averaging 10 randomly selected, reasonably new skins in terms of Downloads per comment given: WinCustomize: 107 downloads per comment (low: 63, high:151) DeviantArt: 143 downloads per comment (lo
I've lurked on some of the sits to see what people say. It's interesting how the rejects and outcasts like ChiChiGirl, Dokt, Dusty and their ilk are happy about all this. It shows just how miserable and pathetic they are. It's pittable but illuminating. Illuminating because it makes it pretty easy to see why those guys are outcasts. So full of hate and petty nastiness.
Jesh66: msstyles belongs to Microsoft, not TGT Soft. TGT Soft doesn't host msstyles. TGT Soft didn't create msstyles and probably legally shouldn't even be using them in the first place. I think they're desperate too. There's some crazy people on http://www.themexp.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7594 who don't seem to get it at all. This would be like someone taking all the wallpapers from Digital Blasphemy http://www.digitalblasphemy.com, converting all the .BMP to .JPG
Wish they'd use a .suite for their installation. It's kind of amateurish the way the installer works.
I'm having a lot of fun with this. Will have to let my son help me play it so I can try out the 2 player mode.
Suggest emailing [email protected]. With all the server problems they've had there may be a hikcup there.
On one of the posts here I saw someone talk about how ThemeXP download counts are very high. That got me curious so I went over there and saw that sure enough skins get incredibly high download counts. But are they legitimate? To find out, I looked for a really old unpopular skin that couldn't possibly be getting any downloads. I found one with 'only' around 2000 downloads in its history and was over a year old. I clicked on download and it brought up the dialog. I aborted. I
The new Tomb Raider game, Angel of Darkness is garbage. Total crap. No legitimate magazine could possibly have played the game and concluded that this was a good game. So what did the game mags say? Did they let us down and shill for a big publisher? Or did they tell it straight? I'm happy to say that they told us the truth! PC Gamer: 47% Computer Gaming World: 1.5 stars Gamespy: 52 Gamespot: 6.1. A bit high but still... This bodes well for gamers. Trust i
...A long time ago... Which is more popular with skin authors? Given some of the 'tude I've seen by people on other forums you'd think that msstyles ruled Britainia! But it ain't so. As far as I'm concerned all skinning is good. As a WB fan, it peeves me when I see some WB skinner make a post on a forum and some guy says "You should have made it msstyles that's what all the other skinners use". Using themeXP and Wincustomize for benchmarks: Nov 2001 WindowBlinds s

When Nintendo wanted to to encourage their customers to register with them, they came up with a novel idea: Let users create a Nintendo desktop. So Nintendo licensed Object Desktop Lite which includes WindowBlinds + IconPackager + WinStyles integrated together. And when they wan
Websites everywhere are grappling for new ways to pay the bills in the post dot-com era. Stardock's Brad Wardell has begun a new series of articles to answer the question "Can websites make money on the Internet?" over at Avault.
I kind of like that the message board is a single entity. But the popularity of this place is starting to make it hard to manage. If I set my settings to be 5 days worth of posts I get hundreds of them now. Does anyone else but me think that it may be time to think about having different message board groups?
Yea it was Mercury's skins that made me see the potential of gui expansion. Great work Mercury!
It is setup with the addage "better safe than sorry". I don't know of many programs any more that really need excluding.
Yes. Ratings all everywhere. They can really suck. So WindowBlinds 3.4 goes up on C-net and they let anyone rate. http://download.com.com/3000-2326-10131236.html?tag=pop At least here it's apprentices and higher. If you think having a low rating on your skin is frustrating imagine how we feel having our software rammed by some random guy whose only response is "sucks".
Stardock's Brad Wardell's column at Avault this month focuses on how to generate revenue via the Internet.
Stardock's news server is so active and so popular that it's archived by Google Groups (formerly DejaNews). Whether it's politics or technical support you want to discuss, it's there. WindowBlinds Support news://news.stardock.com/stardock.windowblinds Object Desktop Support<
I've fooled around with making skins some. I can make a simple skin in 3 or 4 hours. But a whole skin would take 30 to 40 hours easy.
Looks like Service Pack 1 for Windows XP breaks all those unsigned msstyles.
I was check'n out the ripping melodrama on deviantart http://forum.deviantart.com/?tid=302966. Some girl uploaded a wallpaper that had a beautiful woman on it and the girl claimed it was her. When caught she denied it at first but the evidence mounted and she finally confessed to the rip. The thread mainly has people condemning her as a thief and worse. All these people on their high horses got me thinkin, what % of them are using pirated software to make their artwork? How many of them
I know this has nothing to do with skinning but this was actually reported by the associated press and strangely hasn't been picked up by the mainstream media. What an inflammatory article written by leaders in Saudi Arabia, a supposed US ally. I think in the next year or so things are really going to come to a head and the world will be forever changed.
