LogonUI.exe is a Windows XP file, it's not a "format". Sites that let you download logonui.exe files are technically promoting piracy. It would be like someone patching up Write.exe or the defragger or whatever and posting them. Since LogonStudio is small and freeware, what exactly is the issue? It's a lot easier, safer, and more legal to use LogonStudio than to tell your friends to download some logonui.exe replacer program and donwload a hacked version of logonui.exe. What are they go

Perhaps the admins can look into it and re-evaluate the access level of the person who is doing these ratings? I think that is a better solution than wrecking the rating system.

This is the type of rubbish that burns me up. They need to eliminate anonymousness from the Internet so that people CAN be traced if necessary. It migth get cracked but it would be better than nothing. Litestep.net was a great site. Litestep is one of the things that really got me interested in skinning.

Last few weeks traffic here sure seems to be really heavy. Now have to have 1500 downloads just to make it into the top 10 skin authors. Adni has 14,000 per day and we don't even make a notice! Remember when Alexandrie got 5000 downloads and it caused posts to be written? Now someone's getting over 10,000 downloads per day and it's no big deal. Do you think this is due to WinXP's release or just busier in the Winter or something else?

http://www.netsol.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois?STRING=WinCustomize.com&SearchType=do&STRING2.x=17&STRING2.y=4 WinCustomize is owned 100% by Stardock. And paid for by Stardock. Coded by Stardock. [Disclaimer I work for Stardock] While Stardock doesn't expressly state that buying Object Desktop supports "the community" it effectively does since it's sales of Object Desktop that pay for this site and the Stardock news groups which are quite massive. But Stardock's software never t

Shoggot's meglomania aside, let's be constructive. WinStyles is a reality. If SD didn't make it, someone else would have. Skinning is very popular. People want easy ways to skin their computers. So what features should be added to WinStyles to address the concerns raised?

So if I write a crack to crack Style XP which cracks MS's theme protection, can I charge for that? I promise to write important sounding posts saying how we have had "discussions" with the makers of StyleXP (not say what they said of course) and imply that they are "aware" of what I'm doing and therefore approve of it. I'll only charge $10. I'm not greedy you know.

I read the latter one this afternoon. Shoggot's words are insulting and erroneous. I used to think Shoggot knew a lot about skinning software but he really shows that he's out of touch. VDE was never freeware and DesktopX is not a derivative of it. I don't think Shoggot runs any of these programs and hasn't in a long while. Shoggot also shows an almost imperial attitude towards skin sites. Lots of people don't want to muck through 50 or 100 sections. I think the reaso

It is truly sad to see Shoggot completely altering history just to try to paint Stardock in a negative light. I wonder if Shoggot realizes how hurtful his comments are to us who work at Stardock. What Stardock usually does is fit the project with the person and it prefers to work with people who are already in the community. Shoggot has twisted this into being a bad thing. DesktopX was in the original Object Desktop specificiation from 1997, it needed a lead developer. Stardock brought

Disclaimer: I work for the "evil" stardock. Shoggot, what you say about DesktopX is very insulting. Alberto, developer of VDE and the lead developer of DesktopX has publicly stated many times that DesktopX is not based on VDE. DesktopX was started from scratch and he used knowledge he accumulated during its development on DesktopX. Being one of the people at Stardock who has spent the past 2 years of my life working on DesktopX with Furan, Brad, Kris, Alex and others, you demonstrate ju
