Please do not post the links to the enhanced versions. Install Stardock Central and download the beta version of WindowBlinds, which has the updates to attempt to address the start menu issues some people have seen.

ATI has seemingly fixed the T60 suspend problem with their beta drivers for RC1 (which are not part of RC1, though to their credit, they were available 24 hours later). We'll see more about that as I test other machines. I would like a way to force new drivers for the base install as well for video, as I suspect my new issues with the Crossfire test box are also tied to video.

Still waiting for my Season3 dvd's from Amazon. But I saw all of season1 and most of season2 and it's a pity it couldn't continue given some of the schlock for past and new seasons of other shows. Kris

IconPackager upgrades have been free (including to v3). Enter the email address you ordered under into the form at www.stardock.com/support and it'll send you the download link and serial for the latest version.

I've tried reproducing this on a couple of machines here, both as upgrades from 1.x and fresh installs. I'm not able to reproduce this. Did you have a previous version of the Launchpad installed? If so, remove it. Then try again. Any AV apps perhaps getting their fingers in there and locking the files on extract? If this problem persists, please email the full log file to kwilas @ stardock.com.

We are looking into why the website response is being fussy. As far as the store certificate for ssl goes, it's tied to store.stardock.com and is good until mid-December 2006. If you're having a SSL/cert problem, please email as much info as it'll tell you to [email protected]. OS, browser, what you get for an IP when you ping store.stardock.com from a command prompt. The updates overwriting previous files has been... adjusted. I think, as of today. Not EFD's fault, just how things were setup on the server. Drag your personal folders into the Places tab on the settings window. Myself, I also remove some bits from the Quick Launch tab. I tend not to launch Outlook Express to fetch my mail from my file dialogs, but the option is there.

To be more explicit, as I understand things, Windows Vista will ship with Windows Defender (an anti-spyware piece). If you want AV, you'll be encouraged to consider a subscription to Windows OneCare. Which, frankly, I'm fine with the option of at this point. I used to whole-heartedly recommend Symantec solutions, let alone Norton Utilities and PC Tools back in the day. No more. Too many processes. Too many oddities. Too many funky things these days.

I bought MyDVD as soon as it became useful to transfer shows from my Tivo. It worked well for awhile, albeit with a frustrating UI and a tremendous amount of time to transfer and reencode everything (nevermind the directory limitations for files). Lately, I've been unable to get it to work properly. The 2Ghz Opteron/2GB will literally shut down in the midst of transcoding, including if I kill off everything extraneous first.

bwmchubb, please take your comments and cram it with walnuts. When you would like to come back with the program or the company (apart from Microsoft with Windows Vista) that attempted to make high-resolution boot screens for the Windows OS available, then perhaps we'll hold a conversation about timelines. POST bootscreens will not be part of that. Kris
