As was mentioned earlier, do not load yourself up with debt. Those offers for free credit cards you'll see tons of the first week or two? Well, if need be, fill out the crap and get the freebies. But then cancel/burn/whatever the cards. Do not keep them. If you can't live within your means, learn. 8am classes are to be avoided. And its not because you're hungover really. It's because you're now "free" of being under the watchful eyes of others and if you can't self-motivate to get th

I have refreshed the builds to include the games-oriented fixes. Based on our testing, that should mean at least 3 things: 1. docks won't show over fullscreen games (though to be fair, this wasn't happening with every game) 2. mouse activation for docks will be disabled when a fullscreen game is running 3. background of the zoomer dock shouldn't come loose and wind up on top of the dock items after a resolution change like with games. Update with
The manual PDF online is the same as the printed manual that came with the CD, so you're not missing anything there. Even includes the incorrect things, like the Local Interviews on page 23. Updates will be available shortly in a standalone fashion. Ubisoft QA has to approve them at present.
Patri, are you running as an admin user? It's like the registry isn't being updated with the version information after the update, which makes it think there still is an update to be had.
That was our fault. The freeware build still had the Plus serial check in it. I've updated the download link (same url) and the build on SDC. Should be all set now.
There is no serial number included with the box. The 1.01 update will be available for everyone after Ubisoft QA signs off on it.
Nevertheless, use a .png for your additions. 2.4. Custom character portraits -You can insert your own portrait into the game for use as a custom character. Create a 211x256 pixel .PNG file with your character portrait and save the file to the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Stardock\PolMachine\Gfx\Candidate directory. For example, saving the file with Adobe Photoshop, you s
All pre-orders shipped Thursday. That means everybody who either pre-ordered a CD copy directly from us or ordered a CD though about noon Thursday. Orders from the last 24 hours (since noon Thursday) were shipped out this afternoon. Any orders since ~2pm EST on Thursday are for the CD + the download links for the Political Operatives Kit. You cannot download the standalone game like the people who pre-ordered, so you must wait for the CD to arrive to install.
We received our retail copies this afternoon and after bit of effort, managed to get them all packed up and sent out via the US Postal service (not overnight shipping though . Everyone who had a CD pre-order through Stardock as of around 1pm today should have had their copies shipped out. As everyone in that category has a serial number, you can use Stardock Central to download and install the latest version of the game
In line with #9 and #10 above, the two reports we've seen of people reporting that the map was not displaying properly on Windows XP (i.e. it was showing up as all gray, without its textures) were resolved by updating to SP1. Think that was partially from its DirectX getting updated, but I'm just putting this out here in case its reported again.
We've no control over pre-orders direct from Ubisoft. Only people who've pre-ordered through Stardock until today, who order CD's from Stardock until we get CD's shipped out, or TotalGaming.net customers can download the game. And its only early insofar as you don't need to wait for the CD. Its also a more recent version than the CD, so if you do install through Stardock Central, installing from the CD would put an older version on. So I wouldn't bother when the time comes. <img src=
You can use the Archive functions in Stardock Central to create a zip file with the game. Burn that, the Stardock Central installer, and your serial number to a CD. As you'll need them all to use the Restore functions in Stardock Central on your computer.
The retail boxes are shipping to stores as I type, so it'll be available there depending on the vagaries of distribution and shipping directly. It's available to download for our TotalGaming.net subscribers and people who've preordered but not yet gotten CD's. Which in the context of August 11, means everyone who's ordered, as nobody has CD's yet.
Please do not post thread titles like that. If you purchase the CD today, you'll be able to download it today (August 11). Once we have the CD's shipping out, new orders won't be able to download immediately. Unless they're TotalGaming.net subscriptions. Who'll be able to download PM and the other games immediately after order.
One could, but isn't part of the fun of the campaign mode playing the ladder and seeing who you have to face next?
The demo will be available later. I've changed the Download link in Stardock Central if you don't have a serial to point to a page with information on entering your serial number once you order.
Please follow the download link in your receipt email to http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/pmachine_helpDL.asp to find directions on how to enter your serial number into Stardock Central and install the game.
There isn't going to be a Metaverse like in Galactic Civilizations. At least not anymore as far as I know.
Repub, please check the email for your serial number and download instructions. The CD's will follow when we can send them. http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/pmachine_helpDL.asp has directions on how to install Stardock Central and add your serial number to install the game. We're also sending out another email to everyone who pre-ordered and that was charged today with a link to that page and directions on installation.
dter, this afternoon Stardock Central will show modules for the Operatives Kit and the manual as newly available downloads. Technically, the editors are already there in an Editors subdirectory, but we're making a little menu for them right now. kram11, orders today will have the CD's sent out with the initial batch. No lag for a second round. And you'll be able to download later today.
And TotalGaming.net customers can get it online now and will continue to be able to do so.
Everything from June 1 to this moment has been pre-orders (in that you've not been charged yet). We're about to charge the pre-orders and make PM available today for download via Stardock Central while we wait for the CD's to get out to you in the mail. --- People who have pre-ordered up to this point and orders until we have CD's will be able to download the game. Once CD's are shipping out, any new orders direct from us w
PM was available yesterday, as expected, for our TotalGaming.net customers. There was not a standalone electronic version. As I tried repeatedly to express yesterday, there are contractual obligations. And that includes to our customers. I am in the process of making some new arrangements for people who have ordered directly from us to have another option available today.
Also, please do not pass the demo link around just yet. Ubisoft will probably be officially hosting that. And we'll update the downloads page when available. We needed the link up to make things all visible for our existing customers. And I would rather its something proper than a link that 404's or something.
We are trying to address the CD pre-orders as quickly as possible. We are on the same footing with retailers this time around. As soon as I know more, you'll know more. We are working with a very large publisher, without which we would not be able to have such a retail presence in the upcoming months. And that, like in this instance, tends to mean some things are out of our direct control. Please be patient. We've got 2 we
