There is no trial presently (and apart from tagging the fish, I'm not really sure how we would go about making one). Used another template for that page and neglected to change the download links to remove the trial.

Please post some details on the ati chipset and general laptop info (Lord Vimal). If there's any .dmp files in \windows\minidump from this (or you can turn on the logging and make them), that might help too. A lot of effort has gone into the Plus version and we are using it internally. But the stories about how different hardware is at boot times would curdle your blood. More on availability in the future.

I don't think its the starting the OS that Brad's concerned with here. It's the inefficient use of unallocated RAM. I've got 1GB in this machine. It takes over 10 seconds to remove some 1000 files from a directory and subdirs with a delete command (not an issue with smartdrv.exe in dos :). When I launch Internet Explorer, why can't it instantly be on the screen? I've got close to 40MB of SVCHost.exe's already. Why not the options for a preloaded IE base to launch easily. Why

7) I can't walk through a dark room. I have to turn the lights on. Not being able to see drives me nuts Well... that explains why it was so fruitless of me to keep turning off the lights in the conference room during the day.

Its been tested to work with the longhorn PDC build. But I've not personally tried it with 2003 server. Should be ok there. Or flip into safe mode and remove \windows\system32\drivers\vidstub.sys worst-case.

When did you get the BootSkin build in question? We have refreshed things to 1.01 this week (http://storage.stardock.com/files/bootskin_free.exe) to account for some oddities with various chipsets while loading. But we also put some additional effort into having it safely fall over if there was a problem. What's your hardware configuration? Particularly, video card and motherboard.

Tons of new updates and changes. You'll need to have your WC serial entered into Stardock Central (and check the Show Pre-release options under the View menu) to see this beta. Kris 1.29 beta ------------ Fixed bug with applying DesktopX themes and objects. Updated support link in About dlg. Improved search results loading time. Added support for redirecting to webpages rather than dow

Freedom of speech is in the Constitution, but that doesn't mean it applies here. If you want to use complete sentences and specifics to advance a position, that's another story. Kindly include details on bypassing Microsoft's copyrights and security, redistribution of copyrighted Microsoft material, incomplete skinning (and no, not .manifest files), and how the Evil Corporate Stardock holds a pitchfork baby-tossing contest on alternate Tuesdays (weather permitting).

Could we please not berate the developers for staying late and trying to deliver a beta on a Friday? As addicting as it is, it's a video game, not a cure for cancer. We're trying our best to meet any dates that are actually posted, but except for the Elf, we're only human.

Started last night with taping coverage of the State of the Union and followup commentary for The Political Machine team. Spent the early part of the day fighting with IconPackager over stripping out updating author info from icon packages. With Brian's help, we worked around that so Jake could test a CD version of IconPackager (requested by more people these days). Took some 6 installs to get OpenBSD 3.4 happily installed on an older machine. It didn't seem to be too fond of

The weather seems to be cooperating a little. It's certainly cool (under 20 degrees F), but it doesn't seem like there will be any snow. Did see a news item early about Edwards and Kucinich agreed to encourage their supporters to combine if either of them didn't make the 15% cut in the first round.

Thank you for your feedback on the download limits. This is very much a matter of thresholds in that while you've got some 50MB of downloads (from some of the top skinners and authors on the planet), at the end of the day, somebody has to pay for the bandwith and servers to provide them. There are lots of different options for products you can purchase from Stardock that will remove that limit. Be that purchasing DesktopX, IconPackager, ObjectBar, WindowBlinds, or the full Object Des
