It would be cool if when you lost control of the senate, the party that IS in control starts making desicions for you... Like if I'm the mercantile party but the techno party takes over, I get all those negatives AND I loose the ability to pick my techs! and vice versa, if the merchantile party takes over, they start making their own trade routes! that would be cool, but it would also take a lot of work...

Yeah.. I always think of my survey ship as the flagship of my empire... whenever a big fight is brewing I call it back into my space to kick some booty. plus, nothing like engaging an enemy fleet while taking their anomalies! Does the AI get mad at this? Because the Torians declared war on me once for no reason, but my survey ship was in their space taking all their anomalies...

Nope. I'll be minding my own buisness, trying to stay out of debt when BANG! We the Drengin have surrendered to the mighty Scottlingas. Then I notice that every other major race is in the hole for 5 grand. Then they all just start dropiing like flies.

Speaking of AI... anyone else notice that it's hard to get through a game now without half of the mafor civs surrendering to minors? I think this is silly.

I just don't see what is wrong with it... you click on the picture of the galaxy, boom, you're at the map. you click on the Terran insignia and you get your internal stuff... you click on the planet for the planet list and the ships for the ship list... what is so hard about that?

To jpub.. 1) So.. put a few on random, and if you want it easier put like 2 of them on idiot or dumb... or is laziness preventing you from doing this yourself? 2)I bet the WHOLE point of the manual will be teaching you how to play... hmm. 3)I agree. 4)If I want to sleep while I'm playing... I'll shut the game off and go to sleep. At least that's how I feel. ;p

It just seems weird when new player complain that this game is hard to get into, but seeing as I've been in the beta from the beginning, maybe it's easier for me? Personally, I don't find this game any harder to navigate than I found Master of Orion to be when I first played it back when I was 13... And are we skipping beta 3b?

I guess I agree... I don't think that it should be restricted, but it should be smart enough to make an informed decision on whether or not it SHOULD sell said special ships.. as on another post, I agree that the player should be able to sell the AI any of its ships it wants, but the AI needs to be smart enough to effectively bargain and to know when it's getting a raw deal...

If trading colony ships is to be allowed, I think the AI should be able to distinguish between ships that were just built and ships that already have colonists on them... I don't think it makes sense to sell a ship with a hundred million colonists on it... nor a transport with millions of your soldiers! All in all... I still think a lot of work needs to be done with diplomacy in this game, but I don't think they're done with this yet?

But I think he means that it is still a cheesy strategy... I agree that as beta testers it is our duty to sniff out the cheese, but if someone asks for a good strategy, you might as well give them something that will work beyond the beta :p

I am having tones of fun! I love the almost boardgame feel this game gives you! The only thing that still irks me is the fact that the races still seem to vote randomly in the UP...
