But in most my games, it's like that at first contact... I wonder if it's a bug? I don't know why all the aliens would switch to the opposite end of the morality spectrum before I even meet them? And the races I set to neutral do stay neutral...
Wyrenn
With that, it seems for some reason that when you set a race to "good" they get a "demonic" morality in the game, while those you set to "evil" are given "saintly" morality...
Who knows? One of the things I like about GalCiv is it's potential to grow... and keep growing. Maybe after the game is out, and if anyone still thinks it needs it, a more in depth battle system might be put in? I personally like the "board game" way it is now... but I am a board game freak, so maybe I don't count...
I think it would be pretty cool if when you used a Terrorstar to destroy/raze a planet you get a massive Influence drop because it's a bad thing to do...
IS there currently any way to steal tech from the other races? And does Destabilize do anything right now?
Now this confuses me... I'll be the first to admit that I'm not that great at this game, but I can say that I don't find it overly difficult.. I play with 2 good and 2 evil and 1 neutral race, all set to average and a large to huge galaxy most of the time... and although I don't usually win, I don't usually lose all that badly either...
I don't think that they SHOULD trade planets unless you are actively destroying them, and even then they should only trade planets for a peace treaty...
That would be very nice. :d
I noticed that the last game I played too...
When are we going to see more of these? Voting on trade routes over and over is getting kinda boring...
Hmm... my ships on Auto-pilot move during my turn...
The AI is supposed to know where all the good planets are... it's explained in the story.
Not true... Germany was beaten long before Japan ever surrendered... that is why the unfortunate use of Atomic weaponry came to pass.
While playing for a very short amount of time today, I noticed that the "Battleaxe" ship no longer has a graphic then you select it to be built... anyone else notice this?
I've noticed that too...
Now this may just be because I suck, but I can't seem to get anywhere in this game... I'll get lucky and find a few good planets near me, and before I can even get a 2nd Colony ship out I see alien colonies getting dangerously close... I get boxed in by 2 Aliens before I even meet the other 3... any tips would be appreciated... I have been destroyed by the Yor oh too many times...
Yeah, it does say that the server is not available all the time. No one from stardock has told me anything.. and I'm STILL waiting for a return email about this. I've got ADSL, no firewall (to my knoledge) and I have no idea what proxy I use... because I am dumb.
So what, am I doomed to never play this game? Have I wasted 60 dollars? (Canadian mind you, but still a lot for something that doesn't work..)
I just bought the GalCiv beta, nothing else...
This really blows. I've done everything and it's still not there... Yes I have registered and yes I have turned show betas on. Still nothing.
Honestly, I can't find it... unless you mean the "register" button, in which case it does nothing.
where is this mystery "update" button?
I bought just galciv... and I noticed also today that it says my subscription expired 23/03/2001... if that does anything...
I got the manager working again, and I noticed this time that it says server not available right when it starts... does this mean I just can't get it?
Now the Drengin Manager won't even open anymore... :sniff!:
