Am I the only one without Shipyards? No one else notices this problem?

How do you get to build Shipyards in Beta3A? I can't seem to find them.. have they been moved to later down the tech tree?
I just noticed this too... I need another early planet improver!
just make the starbase the destination of your constructor. it should prompt you when it gets there.
you have to use uppercase when you type it in... I couldn't get it to work when I first got it and it was because I typed the serial number in lowercase...
Another thing I've noticed is that the background music ALWAYS plays, even during the finished research screen and you can hear two sets of music. Whenever I make contact with a race the background music also cuts off the music you get when you meet a race... and when I click a destination with a ship there is no sound anymore either.
Every time I try to change the name of my leader and press the spacebar it kicks me back out to windows... no error message or anything.
now! I NEED IT NOW!
November? I don't think the final game will come out for a while...
4ghz Pentium V... i wish.
need... beta... three... hook it up to my veins!
Anyone else finding it extremely hard to wait until tomorow? :D
I only purchased GalCiv, and you still get the Drengin Game Manager, just that the only thing that shows up on it is GalCiv and GalCiv updates...
Maybe some way to track which planets defected to you through Culture and which ones you took by military force? Have a set number of worlds that have to culturally come into your empire to win?
They fade for me... and there's a little "boom" sound when they fade too...
You'll get everything to do with GalCiv if you only buy GalCiv... Drengin.net just gives you access to the other games AFAIK...
All these specialized colony ships seem to basically imitate what a Spacestation can already do...
Yeah, but remember that currently if you select "good" aliens they actually are "evil" in the game because of that bug...
But why would you build a Starbase on a class 1 when you can build them anywhere?
What about some form of Galactic Core explosion that bursts through the map Destroying any ship not in orbit around a planet? That would sure mess up a game...
I personally think that these ideas don't add to the fun... You have to think that all the aliens and you want to WIN because this is a GAME. Sharing systems was on of the things I DIDN'T like about MOO2. There is a point in any game where some things that would work in "real life" and "make sense" arn't fun. I really like the boardgame feel GalCiv is going for and while I do like having allies, I wouldn't want said allies decreasing my production by sharing systems with them... And as for s
Alright, so monsters are in... a small step away from Pirate Fleets!! oh yes...
Making fleets/convoys seems like a cool thing to do... I'm for it.
This has me thinking of all sorts of neat ideas... are pirates or something like them ever going to appear? I think that would be cool... a small fleet of space pirates gathers to prey on the trade routes!
Yeah, but he said it WOULD kill aliens ships... I think it would be cool if there was a event that was sort of like a monster migration, that had 5 or so monsters in a group sweep once through the galaxy causing havoc!
