We have to remember that the AI is still being worked on...

None taken Steeve! :D
1- This is in the works. 2- I don't see why... 3- I don't like this idea, seeing as Battle Cruisers arn't that good anyways... 4- Troop bonuses are a result of technology and anomolies. It has nothing to do with attacking or defending. 5- I assume you mean for the AI... play a few games on large-gigantic galaxies and see if it changes your mind :p You'll find that your strategy won't work at all in big galaxies... I only play small galaxies if I want to win quick anyway
I wanted it for christman though. Oh well. I have a feeling that while this game will be fun, it won't be MOO.
First off, that whole thing about them changing into giant robots was in referal to Unicron. Second, even if the player doesn't want to make them, give the Drengin a chane to build what they want! And that's Terror Stars!
Well, you know you have the current Beta if there is no "install" graphic in the DGM... now I don't run the game from there all the time, but they make it pretty clear on the boards when a new version is available. As for pirates I havn't seen them either... but they are random, not suppost to be in every game.
I don't know if this is supposed to happen or not, but my ships in one game all of a sudden had MASSIVE sensor range... this coincided with when I had to start hitting ctrl-r to see my ships under the fog... the only resource I was harvesting was the research one. Is it suppost to increase sensor range or anything?
I don't know, but then again I never play for the "score" anyways... I play for fun, and technically I would still have bought this game if there were no scoring system or metaverse! Although, updating the AI through the metaverse is something I am interested in... And even though the Flag "I don't do anything but look pretty" Ship won, I'm confident that Terror Stars will make it into 1.0... they already have artwork and stuff...
I have been playing the "good" lately. Havn't seen many attacks.
But there's a point when you have enough systems and just want to enforce your will on the pitiful alien scum... ;)
Fog of war bug is happening a lot... I've been pressing ctrl-r quite a bit. Some tech descriptions (when you're looking at them deciding what to research) get cut off and you can't scroll down to read them... I think that's all I've noticed... Other than that I've been having no problems with this build!
Another reason... JUST LOOK AT THEM! Holy crap, that looks soooooo damn cool... :d
I wish Terror Stars could change into giant robots!! That would be beyond cool...
You mean you'd actually want a ship that does virtually nothing instead of a space station that can destroy star systems?! What is the logic behind that? And it's not the first time the Death Star has been ripped off... not that I'm saying this IS a Death Star rip off...
Well, it has been established that both will happen, just which one will get in to 1.0... and there IS going to be a way to group ships, even if there are no Flagships, so why vote for Flagships? Even if they get in they're not going to do anything special until 1.X anyways... plus Terror Stars are just so damn cool!
When I get Terror Stars I'll definately use my space stations.. hehehe...
I just saw the Altarian logo in the minor races section too... clicked and crashed to desktop as well.
Warships need long range in my opinion... how are you supposed to launch assaults against an enemy empire if your ships can't get out of your own space?
Damn! I catch the flu and can't post for a day and Flag Ships catch up... But think of this StarDock... Terror Stars can be used for marketing! I asked a few of my friends who havn't played GalCiv which one of these things they'd vote for an all of them said Terror Stars, and one of them pointed out that Terror Stars would make him want to buy this game more than Flag Ships would...
The whole point of the negatives is to punish you for not being able to control the senate...
There is no clue that you have it in the actual game. But if you didn't have it the DGM would tell you you need to update it.
I ALWAYS play on huge/gigantic galaxies. Micromanagement does get a bit crazy, but I'd still rather have my Terror Stars. I don't mind the micro that much...
As for outposts, thats what Spacestations do, increase your range plus other good stuff!
Why not give Flag Ships a limit to how many ships can group with it? And make it low... like 10 or something. That way they will only be used for escorting Transports, not for making mega-fleets that can crush anything...
Personally, I have no problem micromanaging my ships... and one of the reasons I wanted this game was Terror Stars, so I voted Terror Stars because I want my Terror Stars! Flag Ships are a nice thing to have, but I almost like it better when you can have a small fast fighter manuever through enemy fleets to pick off the important ships... Flag Ships will take this away, and although it is a pain to the human player, I'd rather deal with it and have the ability to still do it to the computer! And
