That was vague. My point was that it would be ten times the work for him to post than it would be to delete it, and no one would really ever see it anyway.

I don't know about ASP, but it's easy to see the real requesting IP with PHP, regardless of proxy server. Anyway, if he did come up with a few dozrn totally new IP addresses, the only reason he would have would be to come back and post here. Then they would ban that IP, and so on, and so on. After a while it would seem futile, considering nothing he posted would stay up more than 5 minutes anyway.
only part of your IP changes, if you come from the same ISP. the can ban a block of IP addresses and you would have to change the IP substantially. Deviantart once banned all AOL users to get the job done. Dunno if they ever opened that back up. Anyway, it would suck and be a miserable embarassment to have that done, wouldn't it? Why risk it?
The only question I would be qualified to answer would be the male/female part. No, it doesn't bother me. One of my best friends in skinning was Tananda, we worked on a lot of stuff together, lot of hours on ICQ bouncing ideas off each other. If anything it doesn't seem that females are as comfortable, who could blame them, lol. I have never once heard anyone measure a person's sex against their skinning, though, positively or negatively. There are too many damned good female skinners. Wish
sweet, that's the ones I have been waitin for. Thanks

Here's a link to the package I mentioned: http://www.tera-byte.com/hosting.cgi?plan=4U
np. if you aren't gonna have tons of hits and transfer you can get a 99 dollar a year package with like 20 gigs of transfer and 99 email addies. You're not getting a huge pipe to yourself, but it should be fine for most people. Their other packages are pretty good, too.
I clicked, you shouldda used a counter, lol. You shouldda seen some of the homemade images that got posted on skinz org's messagbord. Ask chinacat or Doreen, there was one I bet they remember... I can't remember the guy's name, though... You know, if people spread images like that all over the internet, Google image search wouldn't be nearly as popular.
echo is a great way to debug. Anytime you have a problem, echo or var_dump the variables you are using just to make sure they are what they are supposed to be at the line number that is giving you an error. I am awful about paths; i always forget to put a '/' on the end of a path and then .= the filneame onto the path variable, running the names together. OR I put '/' on both and end up with them doubled. paxx : I seem to remember that Windows path slashes '\' have to be e

][v][assive: there's a lot of people who didn't think they could be sued for defamation on messageboards and newsgroups. ISPs have been forced by courts to give up the identities of people who make misleading comments that effected a company's sales. Read the news a bit more often. It is happening all the time. People don't understand that they are speaking on a broadcast-quality venue, reaching thousands and thousands of viewers. If someone went on your local TV station and said "
actually, it sounds like Stardock told your credit card company to delete the first two purchases, then redid it (the third time). If your credit card company hasn't replaced the money for the first two, how would it be Stardock's fault?
If I were 'in your position', I would call my credit card company first, tell them that the other two charges were unauthorized, and have them straighten it out with Stardock. You don't have to pay for things you didn't buy. You, *do* have to be responsible for your claims, and you haven't made one reasonable statement that makes me believe this is Stardock's fault. Now shut up. I think they oughtta removed this thread and ban ya if you make it again.
No, but you *can* sue people for screaming "DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT", nancy.
same way people triple post, they sit and click the button over and over until the page reloads. People have been sued for what you are doing ][v][assive, no one is saying you don't have a claim, but there are ways of doing it that doesn't damage the reputation of a product or the business that makes it. If you made the purchase with a credit card, your credit card company can do more for you than stardock. How do you know that it isn't the creditcard company dragging their feet.<br
oh, and make sure your slashes are turned in the Windows direction.
hrm, dunno. All the permission problems I have ever had on MS have ended up being mistakes in the path or file name, for some reason you get "permission denied" if there are eccentricities in the path in a file() type action. You sure it is saving it to the right spot? echo the target path and check if you haven't already.
I'll just add that I run PHP on Windows on a constant basis with no problems or quirks, rebooting about once per week. I wouldn't see a great need in studying both asp and php; I would pick one or the other and learn as much as you can. Database access is very, very simple in PHP, writing queries becomes very natural with a little practice, and most functionality is already built in. If you decide to go that route, all the software you need is completely free and there are insane amoun
Depends on what you mean by "bars" Most of the winamp controls you see in alternative shells, windowblinds themes, etc., are actually not Winamp itself, but controls that talk *to* winamp. The ease of making this work is dependant on the app that makes the 'bar' in question.
stay light on yer feet, and have fun. see ya Sunday
Not sure. There are only two blue ones, and the darker one seems to be the taskbar divider, so my money would be on the lighter bue one. I haven't played with it enough to know what the white ones are for. I haven't patched my own images in yet. I figure they'll make the background color changeable soon enough, and it isn't jiving with this beta version of Talisman.
I can confirm that. There are four bmp slices in the resources that seem to be what they get the background from, adn teh taskbar divider, etc. There was an image of an IRC chat originally, as well. Disappeared in the second release, lol.
