I have a Wacom Intuos, and an Aiptek that I bought for my little girl recently. The Aiptek was around a third the price of the Wacom, but I *hate* it. I don't like the feel of it, it doesn't seem to be as responsive, and the pen itself requires batteries. Granted, I am biased from two years of Wacom use previous to trying the other, but to me there is no comparison. For my 6 year-old to doodle, the Aiptek is a great value; but to get work done, I would spend the extra for the Wacom.

They do have links to the files themselves, but I had assumed they had worked out permission. In my experience Lighttek has always been good-natured. The original situation at Lighttek was more of 'you send an email with a screenshot and a link", and where that link happened to be was the skinner's business. Frogboy: It was my understanding that they had an agreement with skinz.org when it was the sole storage area for Talisman themes. They also make mention of the sites they use on the 'add theme' section. joetheblow : No, no built-in ability, but if you have PHP running on your machine, you can execute PHP files, either with a command, or at intervals with 'scheduled tasks' or some such. Theme files for most shells are just text files that can be parsed and altered by PHP scripts

cool, thanks for the links. To be honest I am using Talisman, playing with a bit of background PHP automation. The last LS build I consistantly used was the last release before they started insiting on the theme format. I remember updating several times and then falling back to old 'complete' packaged themes I had (Oct. 1999, maybe?). I still have the graphics for the popup and whatnot set aside. I'll surf around a bit after I get some sleep and see where things are at. Thanks agai

Couldn't the exe just opt for a prefered mod if one were specified in the rc, and go with the default if one wasn't? Really, though, what I was leaning towards was when a theme was broken, it would sense the fact and either revert to the default theme, default mods, or revert to the Windows Shell. I like LS, I just really hated the theme standard. It was easier and safer when the themes came with the mods you needed. The last time I checked in, they said they weren't going to announc

Arkadiy Istomin at Lighttek has always been very friendly and helpful to me, he might be able to help with the Russian part. Sadly, I'm not sure if what they are doing is illegal in Russia, or what you could do about it if it was. They have very different standards on copyright and reverse engineering, if I am not mistaken.

lmao. Anyone here that I give a sh*t about knows the quality of the work I can do, and they've seen very little of the whole. I have the benefit of several years experience with Photoshop, and have been skinning since early 1999, so I don't think it would be fair to whip it out and compare lengths with you guys.
