If you, or anyone wants to delete the restore partition, make sure you have all the necessary disks. My Dell, for example, has the XP Pro disc, but it's not the regular, out of the Microsoft box, disc. OS and application restore discs only work when you keep the restore partition. No partition, no OS.

Oh, BTW, I have confirmed that Apple doesn't have activation in OS X. So, at least one other company agrees with "us" anti-activation people. What? Why would Apple need activation? OSX only works on Apple hardware. You can't just go out and buy Apple parts and put together your own Mac. (Well, maybe you could, but I haven't heard of anyone doing

I'm against activation simply because it doesn't seem to work. There are indeed working, cracked versions of Stardock applications all over the net. There are illegal versions of all sorts of software. In fact, there probably isn't any software that needs activation that isn't cracked, or crackable. Serial numbers can be reproduced and generated. Maybe I'm wrong, and activation and serial numbers prevent theft. But on various bittorrent sites, Windowblinds and other Stardock software ar

I would probably be safe in saying most of the users here (including myself) use Firefox and Windowblinds. I've never had any problems with the two. What you should know, is that WB typically won't skin anything but the outer border of the window. No worries though, since Firefox has many good skins available, including a few in the WC gallery.

Can I ask why you want to make these 'bliss wallpapers' anyway? There's a millions out there, and they seem pretty much down to a formula now: simple landscape with enhanced highlights, shadows and saturation in Photoshop. Rather than try to emulate an existing genre, maybe try to create your own?

Since my stuff is legit, I don't really mind WGA or even OGA I mind. I remember when the government wiretapping deal came out, people said they had nothing to hide, so they don't mind being listened in on. This isn't the point at all. WGA and government wiretapping basically means that Microsoft and the government assume we're guilty, and then in

Light and shadow are the keys to doing it right. Put a highlight on the side of the hill, and shadow on the flatter part. Same for the clouds. More contrast. The color on the grass is good, but the sky is a bit dull. Pump up the saturation. If you want more depth, put something in the background. A house, a sign, a dinosaur, anything. Just make it small, maybe out of focus. You have a good start, but you just need to push it more.

If people read posts (such as this one), we wouldn't have the problem to begin with. Probably most problems people have, have been answered already. Look how many people ask how to install a skin when they don't even have the program installed. The program to use is right on top of the gallery! Yet, everyday there's a new post asking the same questions. On a lot of tech support sections, before they allow you to contact the tech support directly, they make you search for your question i

I know what you mean. I've had to make a couple videos for school, and it took 2 minutes to add a fade between scenes. I had to add 5 or 6. Not the end of the world, but it slows down the 'creative process.' And I'm not playing around with some crap computer. 3.4GHZ, 1GB RAM, 128MB vid card. It seems the hardware is plenty capable of handling video editing, but the software needs a major leap foward to keep up with it.
