Search engines like Google look on your website for content. If you don't have much, or it's the same as a million other pages, you won't get good results. And make sure you have descriptive meta tags. As for other content, it's your decision. You can try to put more tutorials on, but make some that are better (in some way) than the millions of other tutorial websites. Why Microsoft anyway? Apple is one big anti-trust violation. Limited software on limited hardware. They're so secretive and protective about everything, so let's sue them to open it up! Maybe we can merge all software companies together so everyone can play nice. Better yet, we can not have any private companies, and just let the government run everything. No matter what Microsoft comes up with, I'm sure skinners will come up with different, and probably better skins/styles. From the screenshot provided (that doesn't really show too much), it looks like the Vista Standard theme with button resizes and and a different color. I actually doubt they were completely computer generated. They were just photoshopped...a lot. Increasing saturation, some burn and dodge, maybe color balance or levels changes. Try to make subtle changes, and keep building on it. Use duplicate layers, make alterations, and fade in the alteration with the layer opacity. If you try to just do one effect, and push it too far, it probably won't come out well. You can always post it here, and see what we have to say about it. G

How many fonts do you have installed? If you have a lot, it not only slows down the loading of certain programs, but Windows itself. Try a font manager like Extensis Suitcase. I'm not convinced Windows is bloated. Even if it is, you don't have to keep the bloat. The 'resource-hungry' Aero can be disabled, and you can remove or not use just about all of the other programs Microsoft puts in Windows. I'd say most people like what some of you consider bloat, for those who don't like or need it, all that's needed is a bit of tweaking to get Windows to run as small as possible.

Quote doesn't work for me either. (Firefox 1.5.0.4) At the old forums, when I clicked 'quote,' at least the tags would show up and I could copy paste the quote in it. Now nothing happens. When I click smileys nothing shows up either. (Not whining, just informing) I feel for ya, Starkers.

Usually after a week or two I find that something requires a reboot. After a while programs start eating up more and more memory, so if you had one of those memory cleaner programs I suppose you could leave it running indefinately.
