Anyone using the Vista Beta 2 as their main OS? Or just playing around with it for a bit?

I don't know if you use ebay, but I happened upon this. Link
priority #1 needs to be consistent site performance, whether it be 10 seconds to load a page, or 3 seconds to load a page I definately agree with that. Even after the big server upgrade, things don't seem to be as smooth as they could be. Where resolution is a factor (wallpapers, bootskins,
I suggest everyone do what #32 says. Check the crc dealy. I checked it the first time I downloaded, and when it was off, I realized the file hadn't downloaded completely.
I think it's funny how the alternative to the iPod looks like a cheap rip-off of an iPod. What else would they look like? All mp3 players will be a thin rectangle with a screen and some buttons. And which alternative? There are a ton of flash-based mp3 players. The Creative Zen M and new T
Here ya go. Link
If Apple released OSX for all hardware, as Windows is, OSX would encounter the same problems, and Apple wouldn't have any 'advantage' over Windows. OSX would be a an equivalent to Windows, for better or worse. For the obsessive Apple fan, it would be bad, but for the rest of us, it would bring some real competition for Microsoft. This would bring lower prices for Apple and Microsoft prices, and better quality products. I don't th
Well, when I downloaded it with out any download manager, it saves as an ISO. I downloaded ISObuster, so ISO files are now recognized on my computer. Maybe you should download an ISO-opening program and retry the download. I didn't think that it mattered if a file was recognizablle or not to download, but give it a shot I suppose. <a href="http:
Interesting. I bet Microsoft is glad that there is such demand and curiosity about Vista. I wonder how this is affecting the ISPs, and if they'll get ticked off.
Just to be sure, Keepsafe and Memeo AutoBackup do the same things, right? I have the Memeo trial, but if Keepsafe does the same thing, I'll get it.
Maybe it will update when using forums.wincustomize.com... Edit: nope... Anyone else seeing this problem in other threads?
Ah ok, thanks.
Does this mean I shouldn't install Vista Beta2 (which I'm downloading as we speak) on my laptop? It seems that after Microsoft realizes all the problems they have, and fixes them, they'll end up releasing XP under a new name.
Okay, I've found that using Firefox doesn't work when downloading this. I keep getting the 'high demand, go away' message. When going to the same link in IE, it brings be to a page where I can choose to use their download manager, which gives me the above message. If I try to download the ISO with out their manager, it works. So in 2 hours and 48 minutes, my Vista cherry will be popped. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0
Has anyone been able to download it? I've been getting the 'high demand, go away' error all day.
There is a point that's reached when an image is altered to an extent that it can be used with out permission. Would you say that Picasso's collages are 'rips,' since he used other images and text? Does Andy Warhol owe Campbell's for his use of their soup can images? Of course, simply colorizing an image is not at this point, but if you manipulate and integrate an image into your own work, it becomes yours. The problem seems to be that many
Is it just me, or does it still say this post hasn't been responded to in 10 days...
Same here, Adamness.....27/7 x 365/6 in a leap year. Funny, that. 27/7? I knew things were a bit different down there in 'Oz,' but I didn't know you had 3 extra hours in a day. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/w
I was going to reformat in a week or so, so I think I'll reformat, install Vista, play around with it, reformat again with XP and be on my merry way. Too bad I keep getting the 'high demand' message. ...I have too much time on my hands.
Starkers will get a knock at the door just for thinking of such a devious plan.
I bit the bullet and bought BitDefender 9 standard I'm about to reformat, and am looking for a new AV prog. Would you recommend Bitdefender, Jafo? What's the resource (memory) usage like?
"How would it be if Adobe started saying they'll no longer sell their software to consumers on AMD CPU's" They somewhat did that already. Everytime Apple comes out with their own version of Abobe software, Adobe stops making their original version available for Macs. Adobe Premiere was the first, and it looks like Adobe Lightroom will be Windows only after Apple came out with Aperture. Of course, Adobe is doing this mostly for spite...</fon
Good luck with the move. I'm always scared just to system restore or reformat; this must be nerve-wracking.
This sounds pretty good to me. Looks like a couple people aren't willing to pay for skins, but I don't think there's enough information to say 'yes' or 'no' about it. If a WB is $20, I doubt a lot of people would pay that much. If it were $4 or $5, though, many more people would be inclined to purchase it. Especially if it were more than a WB; like a WB
Well, keep in mind that the MSRP of Windows XP Pro is $300. I'm sure very few will end up paying full price, especially if it's preinstalled on new machines. And also, most people probably won't need or get the Ultimate. But still, $450 is a scary looking number.
