playing on the challenging difficulty i don't build farms until three things happen: 1) planet pop is maxed 2) 49% tax rate humming along 3) 95% or higher morale (usually empire-wide by this point)

what's the difference? is one a planetary measure while the other is an empire-wide sum/average? they have their own graphs which seem to not directly correlate.

well... i finally played one out to a military win... was surprised that the game kept going, so i retired and posted that... now it shows as a defeat ha ha ha. how the heck do i go about fixing that? edit: nevermind i got it... you don't actually win til the end of the turn

one thing i would love to do: remove the 15 parsec cap from a ship's scanner range. if it's possible, it would prolly get me flagged as a cheater in a metaverse game though, right?

i started looking through that guide and it looks great, assuming the reader has zero knowledge on the subject (thank you) i ran into some spoilers (event screens that i haven't seen yet) poking around the png files though so i'm going to go play more

3) No, you can't. That's also a code thing. We actually had it selecting the ship that was launched, but it turned out to be a huge pain when you were trying to launch multiple ships one after another from the planet screen ahhh yes, now that you mention it i do remember that from the beta.

i just got back into gcii, this is the first i've really played any released version. so at this point i'm still learning to play rather than learning to mod, but there's a few things that i wonder whether they're possible: 1) changing the ship selector cursor. when i'm zoomed way out, i can't see which planet or ship is selected. i'd prefer if it were a static size, and really prefer if it were a bright color. 2) the tech screen layout. i understand it's getting reworked in

exactly... on pq 7+ i go factory > factory > starport, and buy the first factory. once the starport is done, the icon shows up, and i build either colony ships or constructors and either labs or market centers. i only schedule 2 or 3 items at a time to stay on top of things. if i find a pq 20+, it gets about 15 factories after the starport, then a manufacturing capital, then it starts cranking out the superprojects. <br

as far as the tanker idea is concerned, it would be cool if the range of a fleet was determined by the average of all the ships' ranges instead of the ship with the lowest range (actually i'm not sure how gc2 determines a fleet's range...) you could load up a cargo or medium hull with engines and support modules, add them to your fleet, and increase the range of the fleet. might enable a hail-mary attack on a bigger empire's hom

f you really don't like dice rolls, perhaps you should suggest a viable alternative. Either: A) The strongest ship always wins or B) The strongest ship sometimes loses Deterministic games (Go, Chess) are type "A". not sure i agree about chess.... nothing is more satisf

lots of fun to have a fleet attack a single ship and choose the "chase target" cam. missles and miniballs start coming in from all over the place!!!

sometimes when you click on the blue new ship icon, go to the planet screen, launch the ship, and click the done button, when you exit the planet screen the newly launched ship will not be selected.

that's not how the game calculates damage. you get the full value vs. the specific attack, plus the square roots of the other two defenses. (A) (2,0,0)/(0,0,0) (B) (1,0,0)/(2,2,2) (C) (1,0,0)/(4,2,0) (D) (0,0,2)/(0,0,0) (E) (0,0,1)/(2,2,2) and now A and B and D and E match each other, C is better

YOU UGLY AND YOR BREFF STANK!!!!!!! or maybe it's an alignment issue. what i noticed is some choices are more evil than others. i ended up with a slightly evil alignment after making an equal number of good and evil choices, or maybe i just can't count.

this bug has existed in 4C, 4D, and 5: had alot of ships that were destroyed in fleet combat but the area their scanners observed were still visible, even after saving, quitting, and reloading. also had the planet disappearing bug: x800xt pe, playing on primary monitor.... couldn't see whether the in game anti-aliasing was having any effect between off and 6x, so i switched from "application preference" to 6xAA via the
