90% of the time you'll be listening to the background music managing your underlings with about 10% of the time spent in battle, therefore you set the volume so it's comfortable 90% of the time. when the battles start, the sound effects are at a MUCH louder volume with lots more bass , and i often find myself scrambling to turn down either the system volume via the keyboard or turning down the amplifier volume knob to keep things reasonab

well i've got 0.80[b].008 and haven't figured out wether it's 4E or 5 but..... when going into fleet battles, the background music fades out and the battle music starts. if you hit the done button during the fade out before the battle music starts, the background music will stay at the faded volume after exiting the fleet battle scene. if you hit the done button after the battle music starts everything is hunkydory. a

i was wondering the same thing ha ha ha.... i had a pq7 with 5 bonus tiles and couldn't figure out where to squeeze in the starport. what would happen if you built the manufacturing capital on a 700% production bonus tile? 15x the production for the whole colony?

what an annoying drunken half-asleep post by myself. started a game right in the center with lots of room for expansion but the minors hemmed me in and basically suffocated me. turned off the minors per your suggestion, started a new game, and it worked until the colony rush was over (perhaps until the first save -> quit -> reload) then, a pleasant surprise as the vegans (with their pq15) suddenly appeared on my border... i p

note to self: read the 5 previous posts just a bug: when colonizing two planets on the same turn: first planet is pq26 with a research tile (whoah! gotta rename this planet!!) -> click 'details' -> second planet is a pq9 with a mining tile. (what happened to renaming???!?!?) i'm sure you've all realized by now that the sequence after new turn is haphazard at this point.

yes there are consequences to the evil choices, ha ha ha. i made a run of evil choices (that were just too good to pass up in a close game) and was pleasantly surprised at the repercussions. i don't want to spoil anything so i leave it at that.

sounds like the game is just saving certain aspects twice, such as ship location and destination, or colony improvement and build list. i bet all you really need to do is submit one of the original savegames and one of the bloated savegames and they'll be able to pinpoint what's going wrong very quickly.

a checkbox would be great whether to save the design to a global library of saved ships or to save it to the current save game only. certain things like constructors and colony ship design translate well from one game to another, because you're only dealing with engine and life support tech advancements, whereas offensive and defensive ship designs are based more on the situation at hand: your current (engine/support/offense/defense) tech

Travic: the audio is available as a separate download at stardock central. to fix the alt-tab bug, find the gcconfig.exe file and make sure fullscreen is unchecked. the ships pointing the wrong direction happend for me in beta 4b, in beta 4c it only happens for me when loading a saved game.

couldn't edit my previous post, but just wanted to add the ship movement thing only happens with fleet battles. homeworld morale seems a little messed up. all colonies will be between 100-100% but the homeworld will be 35-50%. the popup that shows how it was calculated never adds up correctly either.

the two that would be most helpful to move around are the quick build list and the transport/ colony population popups. if you build four or five in one turn, the new ship icon is in the lower right corner, the launch button is in the lower left corner, and the troops window is in the middle of the screen. it's like your doing laps with your mouse, lol. currently playing at 1280x1024 resolution but thinking of upgrading to a 1920x1600 m

there's a ship movement bug. if your ship has four moves and you move three squares and then attack, if you win the battle you will come out with four moves again. if the same ship moves three squares then goes into orbit, you can launch right back out of orbit with all four moves again.

if your ship occupying a square next to an enemy planet, and the planet creates a ship and keeps it in orbit, that new enemy ship should take your ship out of sentry. this would greatly speed up the "exterminate" phase of the endgame. there was a thread a while ago about orbital blockades and such.... not sure if this would have fit better in there or what.... hmmm.... this just popped into my mind:i haven't tried this with the

looks like randomness to me, not unbalance. if i were playing light blue i'd try to make friends with pink while colonizing straight across the board, hopefully pinning red in the corner, then take him out and work on the rest.
