Torians Culture War in Strategies Stardock Forums

Does anyone know how the torians distribute their starting abilities? I was playing against them on level bright. I had not found the torians yet and was busy colonizing planets. I colonized a planet near them and discovered them immediatly after. The next turn after discovering the torians and colonizing a new planet the planet had a seccessionary movement. I was playing mission 8 and had explored the whole map and took most of the resources. I had invested a few hours into the game and then noticed starbases popping up owned by my opponent. What was strange was they apeared where there was not a resource. How do you do that?

Mission 8 Insanely tough ships in Strategies Stardock Forums

I am on misson 8 of the alterian series and it seems like the comp is really cheating. There corvettes are taking out my ships like cardboard. I have an armoda of coverttes and battleships and somehow they are fighting me with one corvette at a time. Each corvette takes a ship out before i can kill it and they are running through my ships like nothing i have ever seen before. How can their ships be so tough and so many? Any advice on handling such a military powerhouse?

Can you capture planets from civilizations you are at war with through culture or do you have to be friendly with them? Does destabilization help you capture planets through culture? Any tips on capturing planets through culture? Thanks in advance

Influnce Points and Control of UN in Strategies Stardock Forums

I am really confused. What determines how many votes you have in the UN council (what ever they call it)? I had the most planets and only a little more votes then the other race. Later in the game they overtook me in votes without getting more planets. What determines this? I am on the third or fourth mission on the campaign, the first one that suggests a cultural victory. Is being evil a bad idea to get a cultural vic? I am trying to build alot of the starbases but
