I just caught a thread where on a re-install of SDC, Skin Studio disappeared....it appears you're not alone. Let me (or you can) catch somebody on chat and see if someone forgot to do something on the last builds of SDC........

It really is weird....I think there has got to be a missing file or something that's stopping this. That base folder is home to all the update and what not files that SDC performs so my guess it's somewhere in there. As a guide that base folder should have approx. 40 folders and files...if it doesn't I think a re-install would be in order. You know Carl, I just thought...did you use that SDC to update another machine via a network? <A HREF="https://www.wincustomi

Can't believe this is still not working for you...I know you switched servers around and chunk size (should be set to Atlanta, 65k chunk size) now check one more thing...make sure C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\Temp\Base is there. Your SDC files have to be whacked somewhere...just gotta find out where. You might want to just do an un-install and re-install of SDC. I checked all the newsgroups and what not and no one else is having this problem anymore so I think we're down to guessing.....

If you archived it before you updated, right click on WB and click restore. If you didn't archive then you'll have to use 'system restore' to get it back the way it was. Don't have a clue what you mean when you say you can't access WB thru SDC....what are you trying to do? ....you might want to un-install and re-install WB thru SDC (reboot after each). There has been no reports of any problems with this build that are reflective of yours, so it's probably worth a try.

Finally got the answer to this (gettin' slow in my old age!). Winstyles is now Theme Manager. Set yor Winstyles shortcut to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WinStyles\ThemeMgr.exe. Theme Manager does not show in the Start Menu so you'll have to make one.

You're right Carl....I did mis-understand you about whether it showed or not. You're also right about the mix and match with stand alone apps, except that the SS beta is fully functional with the only exclusion being it's not 'Pro' version and will not trash your OD scrip. Better to have something then nothing. You can try it if you want and I will prowl the newsgroups to see if anyone else is still having this problem (I didn't see any earlier). You may, when it is all said and done, have to hi

*sigh*....this is not a WB bug. When your Display Properties do not come up it means you're missing a .cpl file in your System32 folder. Re-install your graphics drivers! If that doesn't restore it then do a repair on your XP system.......

Download this http://storage.stardock.com/files/skinstudio396d_free.exe and see if it does the trick of showing the Pro version available in SDC after you install it. Caution: that is a direct download link.

Un-install SS thru SDC (both if you show two) and then delete the 'Skin Studio' folder in Stardock folder. Re-boot. Open SDC and try and install the 'Pro' version (should be the only one showing). In the mean time I'll see if I can find a backdoor to this.........
