GGGGGGGROUND CONTROL, BITCHES! Seriously, though. Ground Control was a freakin' great 'tactical'-ish strategy game. Tactical in the sense that you do control your characters on a very close level, and tough as nails in that you only get a certain amount of backup soldiers - you don't have an academy or the like where you can spawn the suckers out as quick as you can. And hey - it's even sci-fi. :CONGRAT: Man, I really want to play that game again. As in right now.
no, little bird, not gonna help you.
Sorry. Nope, little bird. You know how I feel about this chap, so I'm all dried up for ideas as to how to surprise him.
that's the Mexican Independence Day!
Okay, gotta give a quick history lesson. In America, we erroneously believe that the 5th of May is MexIndependence Day. (Like that word I just made up? I certainly do. Better get a trademark on that bad boy.) It's not. MexIndependence Day is the night of the 15th and the day of the 16th of September, when a priest effectively issued the Latin American equivalent of the Declaration of Independence (called the Grito de D
As for being the coolest, I think Ed has stolen that trophy.
Damn. I guess I better see this movie when I get home in a few weeks. I mean, Lou Ferrigno. (I hear he still does the voice of the Hulk too, just like he did in the 2003 abortion. Gotta love keepin' it real. :CONGRAT:)
Why the hell does everyone obsess over carriers so much? It seems like every week or two there's a new post talking about how we need carriers, we need carriers, we need carriers. Not gonna happen in GalCivII, as they've told us since 2006. Anyway. Sorry. Just had to get that off my chest.
I only call it Independence Day if I'm watching Independence Day.
It's when, all those years ago, I fell in love with Liv Tyler. That, and it's a pretty great movie about culture in the mid nineties.
Well, TECHNICALLY there are not "transitional fossils" because all species are "transitional".
I know. You should realize by now that I'm being completely facetious. :P
Just remember: All those scientific discoveries that support evolution are actually the work of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, who touches those scientists with his noodly appendage to keep us all in the dark about his noodly glory. Because, you know, he created everything. In way less time than no steenkin' six days.
Your god hid another fossil for us to find and prove evolution: http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/33623/title/Fossil_helps_document_shift_from_sea_to_land
:SURPRISED: No way! There are TRANSITIONAL fossils? And they've been busy telling me there is no such thing, hammering it into my head over and over and over and over and over and over . . . :P
In a world of growing intellectual darkness, this was a light I wish hadn't gone out so soon. I'll miss him dearly.
+1. (:( I guess I'll watch It's Bad For Ya this afternoon in tribute.
Mmmmm, both Fables and Y: The Last Man are great. Fables may, in fact, (and this is pretty scary to say) overtake Sandman as my favorite comic of all-time. We'll have to see how it keeps up, but so far I'm completely up to date with the trade paperbacks, and that series continually surprises me by its absolute AWESOMENESS. Little Boy Blue is THE MAN. (You would never think I'd have occasion to say that, but there it is...) And Y is great, too. I'm not com
I never had an allowance either.
Me neither. Man, posts like this make me feel old, and I'm a freakin' babe wrapped in swaddling clothes at this point still. (Yes, that was a Messianic reference to myself. I don't know what to make of it yet.)
The last level of the original is time-frozen in the moment a nuclear explosion goes off. How fucking beautiful and unique was that?!
Oh HELL yes. Not quite there yet, but now I'm even more excited. That game kicks the ass of almost every game every single person on here lists. Your assignment, people: GO GET PAINKILLER. NOW.
I don't want someone I don't know telling me what to do.
Adolescent to the end...
I think I'd look stupid with anything but my black locks.
What about those bleached streaks back in the day, woman? You HAVE! You might not want to do it again, but you HAVE!
I loved her in Lord of the Rings and Armageddon. She is beautifully divine.
Two words: Empire Records. Go watch it. Now. I'll wait.
Same as DethAdder's experience on my end. No change since the update to SP3. No better, no worse.
Oh, shit. Gilford Tuttle is back. Dammit, I thought we were done with this tool. Explain once again how you're a 'writer of successful fiction' again? Because last time we called you on that steaming pile of bullshit, you couldn't back it up. And given your mental instability, I'm betting you still can't.
can i install and play my archived galciv 2?
Yes. If the archive file is made with Impulse, you'll be able to install from the archive file and boot it up without a connection. So just burn your archive on a disc with the Impulse installer and you'll be ready-setty-spaghetti.
I'm working on wooing the Alterians and I can't seem to get my relations above 'Warm' even though I've given an economic and research treaties, my diplomatic techs, and even some money. Does it just take a long time or am I doing something wrong here?
Hmmm . . . without knowing exactly what it says for the pluses and minuses on your race relations, it'll be hard to define exactly what you need to do. Some of the reasons they might not be so keen on you, however,
I've been there before. Art has to flow, man. You put a deadline on it and it suddenly becomes work instead of enjoyment, I guess. I'm eager to read some of your poetry, when you get around to it.
The fact that - IIRC - they only have 9? on the dev team, its a stunning achievement that they shove out what they do .... mind blowing frankly.
Yep, last I heard it was at nine, too. They are very good at what they do. The new engine looks great (the basic engine they've used for PM2008 is, they say, the same engine they'll be using for Not-MoM), they've left us a benchmark product (TotA) to play in the meantime, and hecks - PM2008 is bloody fun, too.
Hmmm.... uninstall SDC and give Impulse a try. I just had to reinstall all my games and apps yesterday (had a nasty crash and got to set everything back to factory settings), and it worked like a charm - much better (and faster) than SDC ever was.
Well, turning 25 is the Lou Ferrigno Hulk. And he's the coolest one. So I'm set. ;)
