The technologies "reintegration" and "returning armada" have two levels, but there is no described difference between the two levels. After researching level 1 you can research level 2 of the tech without any idea what it does. I have checked the ability returning armada and saw that there was no change in the cooldown or energy cost. So I can only assume that it causes higher end ships to be acquired, I Wouldn't know... And as for reintegration, I never used it. But it would be nic

I replayed the scenario in question... As the first pirate attack was "forming" the AI placed a 250 bounty on me.. and I placed a 500 bounty on him. The AI had his home planet and has colonized a single astroid. I had colonized an astroid and was in the process of wiping out an ice planet for colonization (colonized while the pirates were attacking). The pirates attacked me and where all killed. The second wave however went for his homeworld. I sent my two capital ships to find it devasted.

The scenario name is close encounters... its a 9 "planet" 1v1... Obviously there was a 50% chance of me being the target, the issue is, if they attacked the enemy he would have been in dire straights. I had him completely on the run. I was annihilating the computer and the pirates took me out... how much fun would the game have been had they attacked him? I would just be playing along when suddenly I get a "you win" message because the enemy's only planet fell to the pirates? S

tech up the fleet and build several capital ships? Keep your fleet defending your planets and send a few shining new battleships to blast their homeworlds... they will definitely feel that. 3 level 3 or 4 (if you have the tech) battleships suddenly popping in and taking a homeworld - big ouch... even if they COULD fight them off it will occupy their fleet (I have seen the enemy recall a fleet from my planet to defend their homeworld... I was fighting all their ships at the homeworld

how about a timer? when last planet is lost you have say... 5, 10, or 15 minutes to colonize something or you loose. This prevents someone from hiding a phased battleship somewhere just to annoy the winners into surrendering the game.

So I recently formatted... (windows broke) I reinstalled steam... when I selected "install" for my games game it checked the target directory and found it already had an existing installation.. so it repaired the registry entries and that was it. 6 seconds procedure. I reinstalled SDC, I changed the install dir to D:\Games and told it to install all my games, it proceeded to download each of them and install them (overwriting files) into the existing directories... taking an aw

My first game I was pretty much overwhelmed by pirates... (random small map) Undaunted I started a second game without pirates, had lots of fun, close combat with the enemy and finally won (random small map without pirates). Third game I went for a scenario... a TINY one... It had my terran homeworld, the enemy terran homeworld. two astroid belts (uncolonizeable), two large asteroids (colonizeable), two ice planets... and a pirate planet. I quickly mapped out everything

and then all the review sites give it poor scores... and the people who actually buy games as a christmas gift (ie, non gaming family members) are not gonna buy it (At least I am assuming they look for "top rated" games to buy rather then just randomly plucking something off a shelf). Yes its a shame... but I am so glad galciv does NOT suffer from this problem. The game is released when its ready. not before that. And it is patched with new and exciting content later (not with cut conte

So I just got Knights of the old republic and had a blast. Yea the game was somewhat dated, and having the two black bars on the sides of my screen (no wide screen res and I don't want a distorted image) was a bit of a pain. But the game really rocked. So I get KOTOR2... and the game is woefully buggy and incomplete. This immediately made me think about how COMPLETE galciv2 is. How twilight of arnor was not rushed for Christmas. But will instead be released when its ready. Luck

[q]2) Fleet management: how about creating fleets in a slightly different way. You create a fleet in a governor-type screen by selecting created templates and limited by your logistics score. When you're done the planets will automatically begin to produce the ships to build the fleet. As your fleet fights, losses are compensated by planets re-building those ships on their own.[/q] - Very nice idea, it can make all those new fleet bonus techs actually useful. [q]5) Have starbas

"I thought 15 was the max allowed radius, but maybe that has changed in a recent update. I would love to see the Eyes bonus apply to planets too - seems silly that it doesn't already." When a ship lunches from a plenet it will sometimes "stick" a planet with 15 range of view until a ship lands on it, then it looses it... Or something else confused like that. I forgot the exact way it went since I haven't played since DA (I am waiting for twilight to finish)

Here are some suggestions I hope make it in: Firstly, some ship design suggestions, since you need to redesign after every tech... 1. A +/- sign next to ship component to quickly add/remove components to the ship. 1b. a counter of how many you have of each individual component right next to the +/- sign. 2. Allow hardpoints on a template to be numbered for quick adding components... For example, have the front hardpoints be numbers 1,2,3,4 for weapons. Have the back hardpoin
- United Planets votes less hateful to evil civs. - Evil Civs less powerful, Good more powerful, Neutral of equal power to both.
See that is exactly what I am talking about... Oh the UP is hating on evil civs and crippling them too much... oh but the evil civs are way to powerful (weapon wise) compared to good civ... I mean, If its got both weaknessess and strengthes then its balanced. Thats the whole point... balanced doesn't mean "the same" or "the same wit

evil is supposed to be better... the rewards for evil are immidiate gains... the rewards for good is the way the AI treats you. Good races stand up for each other... I do think however that it should be powered up... that is, if an evil civ declares war on a good civ then any good civ in good standing with the first one should help it, Monatary aid sounds like the best way of doing so. (think how in the begining of WW2 the us was sending money and supplies to the allies) also "3. It wou

1. The option to build soil enhancement + useful building together... Rather then building up soil enhancement by itself and then later then the planet finishes all construction (or when you notice the soil enhancement is done) go and manually queue a new building, have the option to build a factory or some such on bad land, and have it cost more to account for the fact it is also building soil enhancement. 2. Key 'A' should also automate miners, not just surveyors 3.

Higher level you manufacturing (collectives) all have the exact same name. Keeping the same image is fine... but it should have a numarl indicating which level the structure is. Current scheme: Tech 1: Yor Collective Tech 2: Improved Collective Tech 3: Improved Collective Tech 4: Improved Collective Suggested: Tech 1: Yor Collective Tech 2: Improved Collective Tech 3: Advanced Collective Tech 4: Supreme Collective

Would YOU want to rebel against your government to "join" a race of homicidal machines that want nothing more then the annihilation of all organic lifeforms? I wouldn't. Just like the yor are finally moving away from farming, they are also no longer dealing with influence. That is a very good thing... And as for counter balance... the yor have a bunch of awesome abilities, free structures (that is, structures that require no maintenance) and so on.

The idea that planetary improvements you cannot use are destroyed actually makes a lot of sense... basically when the Yor conquer a planet they will bulldoze farms and use them for something else... humans will bulldoze slave pits etc... it might be awesome advanced tech like more advanced factories, but that doesn't help you if you cannot use them. That being said, There is one usage I could think of. Salvage. When you conquer a planet and it has unusable tech structures, rather then j

I don't see how it matters either way for one signular reason... You guys are a good company that actually provides good patches. So if it is declared "official" one month early it doesn't matter, it will still be in the same condition a month later. except it will be called v1.1 instead of v1.0 And on the month of the release it will be 1.0 instead of beta 0.9 Although I would prefer to NOT play it until it is ready... so for me it means waiting for january regardless of which you

I was wondering if that is a good, or a bad thing? The summary screen shows a +33 IP produced on it that it doesn't show if it is built by itself... But the total produced is lower. (i bought it to replace a regular factory and had my total produced go up to 108... then when i reloaded and bought it to replace a factory sitting on the bonus it went up only to 102...) So i am wondering if that is an error in the summary screen, or in the main screen... which figure is c

found a solution... 1. Click on tools>lookup serial number You will receive a list of all your serial numbers in an email. 2. Click on tools>Register Products Enter the serial number you received in the email from step one.. and click ok. That allowed me to download the game. (which before was telling me to purchase the game first, despite having done so the day it was made available, monthes ago)
