What do SP-only gamers care whether or not a multiplayer option gets implemented or not? I personally don't have any problem with people putting in their vote for an MP expansion. The game was designed to make MP possible, and if it's added and sells well, then I'm happy for Stardock and the MP fans.

The only reasons to play games on a PC rather than a console are if you happen to like PC game genres or if you want indie-developed games. That's it. Or if you like being able to play a game while someone else is watching the TV. Or if you like being able to play a game without having to f
I'd just chalk it up to stupidity/ignorance, myself. Speaking as someone who's spent way too many years as a cashier in way too many places, I can tell you that cashiers are trained for expediency. The idea is to get the customer rung up and the door as fast as possible (especially in a low-quality store chain like Wal-Mart). For most other types of products, the box isn't important. Furthermore, the anti-theft deactivators are us
I guess I just don't understand why this bugged you so much that you'd spend a half hour to search it all out and then spend the time putting the e-mail together when you could have been playing. Depends on how you think. Speaking as someone who has proof-reading and copyediting among her main skills, I noticed much of this stuff right away mys
To make it all short, Galciv2 is a good game as SP game. Hovewer its year 2006 and in these days the biggest winners are onlinegames. This game is like: "Buy a cheap car without engine! We will deliver engine later for added money since it is so expensive and time consuming to build." It depends on ho
Yes, your custom designs (and the core designs) will only show up again when you've once again researched all the techs required for the component parts that were used to build them. This probably also includes things like Miniaturization (since it allows you to cram more parts onto a ship). Edit: *chuckle* Talk about accidental overkill! (I kinda wish this forum had a preview function so you could check for that sort of thing before posting...) Peace & Luv, Liz
Anyhoo. I went through and scanned the patched data files, and I think I got everything updated... the missing stuff added, and some silly goof-ups I had made fixed. All the ship-part files should be updated. Although I can tell just by looking at the tables that there will probably be another patch in the future... there's some issues with two different parts seeming to have the same stats. Droid Sentries II and III, for instance. <br/
Demaratus: Heh, yeah, I know I'm missing all the alignment-based stuff. I did these tables using the original game data, where all of that data was missing, and I haven't had any time to update them since the patch came out that fixed the missing stuff. That's why I recommended the new Galactopedia instead... that program is essentially just a front-end for the files themselves, so it's obviously instantlly "up-to-date", whereas I have to do
A workaround for the "rally point under starbase" thing for the time being is that if you send a ship into the starbase's square, you then can click on the square to get the list of ships in that square, and the rally point will show up as one of the "ships". You then can click on it and disband it. Peace & Luv, Liz
Hey, don't look at me guys... the Stardock folks are the ones who invented the whole Pure Evil/Chaotic Evil/Neutral/Chaotic Good/Pure Good system... I just applied it. I'm used to the D&D system myself... I keep catching myself wanting to refer to the Altarians as Lawful Good, for instance. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gi
Forester: I don't mind that some people are saying that "Hey, great game, if you make a multiplayer expansion to it I'll buy it." What bothers me is some people saying "Geez, I want MP now, why did you release the game without it?" They made a decision to concentrate on SP *first* and not wait for multiplayer, and, as Kato said, why begrudge us SP fans that fact when most modern games nowadays focus on MP and shaft SP to some degree or anoth
*makes lots more posts about all the cool little details in the ending videos so nobody has to scrub toilets any more* Peace & Luv, Liz
You know, I really don't understand why people are making such a big deal out of this. What happens if you're a multi-player fan? Well, you have *gobs* of games to choose from. Pretty much every single modern game that could remotely be multiplayer has it. It's not like you're hurting for choices. What happens if you're a singleplayer fan? Well, you read review after review of the latest games where the reviewer pretty much comes
I just thought I'd note that since the new Galactopedia program makes this sort of thing rather redundant, I'm not going to bother adding any new tables, I'm afraid. But the program is so much cooler anyway. https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=105605 Peace & Luv, Liz
Yep, they're turned off for the moment: https://forums.galciv2.com/index.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=101610&p=4#819693 Peace & Luv, Liz
Fuels Chief: It was mentioned in the "Sticky: Metaverse Help" thread that they took it down due to performance issues and they're working on fixing it. Relevant post: https://forums.galciv2.com/index.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=101610&p=4#819693 So hopefully we should all be medal-enabled again soon. Peace & Luv, Liz
lwahonen: Since you don't have your location listed in your profile, forgive me if I'm wrong, but... Did you get the game from Paradox? If so, there is a "Bought your game in Europe? Click here." message on the top of the Downloads page. Peace & Luv, Liz
I think that "Pond Scum" is supposed to be a humorous euphemism for "really, really, really evil and horrible". Peace & Luv, Liz
According to the RaceConfig numbers: Dominion of Korx: 1 Drengin Empire: 1 Yor Collective: 25 Arcean Empire: 50 Iconian Refuge: 50 Terran Alliance: 50 Thalan Empire: 50 Drath Legion: 75 Torian Confederation: 75 Altarian Republic: 99 Which more or less translates out to: Pure Evil Dominion of Korx Drengin Empire Chaotic Evil Yor Collective
All right, here's my Constructor design: Link: Worker Ant Didn't really come out the way I'd had in mind, but I couldn't really find the parts I needed and I wasn't in the mood to "fake it" at the time. Maybe I'll revisit it later. Next design I'm gonna make is my freighters. I really want to do a butterfly, but there aren't really the right parts, so I ended up with a sort of dragonfly the las
Mmm. I have to admit that I'm personally at a loss, then. I've built a couple new ships of my own in the latest patch (although I did make mine playing the Metaverse), and they show up for me in new games. The only thought I have left is: I wonder if maybe in order to make a design "stick" you have to make an actual working version of it (with modules, weapons, whatever) and build it at least once. Did you build any of your ship designs? Or
Aw, you sure know how to tease a girl. Adventure games are my main gaming passion, and I'd love to see what you folks could come up with, especially if it's sci-fi based. Maybe someday... At any rate, I'm glad to see the game getting good reviews. It is quite good and fun, and your apparent business practice of continued support, no copy protection, and customer interaction is one I'd like to see thrive more. Peace & Luv, Liz</fon
Thank you so much Stardock, for your excellent customer service (that is sarcasm, BTW, though pretty much fits the lousy service I experienced with Gal Civ 1) I think this is unfair. I mean, what more information did you want? If you click on "Downloads" on the left-side nav bar, there's a
Argh. Double post bug.
De nada. If it makes you feel any better, I also at first was scratching my head wondering why my middle mouse wheel button just wouldn't work in the game period, and ended up having to go and tinker around with it until I figured it out. Peace & Lu
