There was an old thread where Feud posted a screenshot of a PQ72 although I never did see the screenshot since by the time I looked it was gone off imageshack. I did see a screenshot of a PQ56 that still should be around somewhere. This planet orbited the star Primus which is rumored to have mystical properties. So far I've never had Primus in any game that I've played. I still have the save game, a copy of which can be found here: <a href="http

and then a dregin should come to your door with a mug full of frosty blood beer. And a cheese log. Don't forget the cheese log.

" A group of thieves have taken over 107 planets in the galaxy, 7 of which are ours!" Dang...!!! That that would both suck, and be really awesome, all at the same. Ona side note, when that event happened to me, for some reason the thieves had an ethical allignment of "good". They must have been led by Robin Hood or something, but I found it strange.

I want to turn off mega events but I can no longer find the button. You can't turnthem off in game. it is a selectable option at the begining.

I don't think it is an issue of size, so much as it is an issue of planet #, and star density. It seems tome that if the AI has only a few planets, or if there is a great distance betweeen empires of empty space, then it has trouble really getting going, or conducting expansion/war.

I don't know if there is also a "Economic Activity worsened", but aren't these effects too much exxagerated? Yes, there is. It's the galactic recession event, and if your economy isn't solid going into it, it can be a real problem.

I'm not an economist, but I am a political science major, so i can comment onthat field. For as much as I love the game, GalCiv can teach you about as much about political science as it can astro physics. The "indpth stratagies" are fun, but not even close to realistic. The "simulations of entire nations" would not be at all applicable to a budding political scientist, since they are to limited to be of any value. For example, let's look at elections. GalCiv models what see

I personally would like this more. Right now I rarely target them during warfare since I can usually outclass the AI ship for ship, and I don't want to rebuild them when I take a planet. But knowing that I can take down their economy by doing astroid raids combined with hitting trade routes would make a war of atrition much for fun and viable.

Yes, everyone knows mega events are MEGA bla bla. THATS NOT THE POINT! We are not idiots, we understand that mega events are "mega". Thats not a revelation. The point is that, any reasonably intelligent player, researches it right away where as the AI does not! So it doesnt "turn the galaxy on it's end" but it rather screws up the AI, which gives you as a player a free win. Which is what I suspect you want, to jack up your metaverse score. <

I know some people like to argue this, but you're wrong Very compelling. Most players of the game quickly discover it's extremely difficult/borderline pointless trying to run an effective military based around smaller ships What is your source for this claim? By adding Space Carriers, you could make it so that fleets made primarily of Space Carriers would be able to

The whole point of Mega events are to provide events that turn the galaxy on it's end (so to speak). If the cure is easily researched, or if teh AI is hardcoded to research it right away, then the event becomes nothing more then a speed bump. It slows things down, but ultimatly doesn't change things much. Like the special abilities, the mega evetns are by nature unbalanced, since they are meant to unbalance what ever is going on in the galaxy. Teh actual "blance" comes in that some

The Metaverse and Non-Meta ships are located in differant folders. If you look in your game folders (under My Documents) you'll see that they both have seperate ship folders. You may be able to copy from your old one and paste them into the Metaverse folder, but since the Metaverse checks to make sure you aren't cheating I don't know if this will throw up a cheat flag. If you don't hear anything from a Stardock employee, what you could try it anyway, then just do a 1v1 cakewalk (someth

The AI, like any AI, stil has it's quirks. But, it is MUCH beter then what it was. On my latest game (set to "tough" I only saw two or three unescorted transports. I haven't had to much trouble with spies yet, but the AI goes after asteroids pretty aggresively. The AI also uses thier super abilities fairly well. For example, in one game the Drath got three main powers and three or four minor races to all declare war on me in about a 15 turn span. That was a crazy war. I hav

I just had tath event and it saved my game. The Drath were hiring everyone and thier dog to attack me, the Arceans AND Korx both got the Super Race event, plus some kind of galactic pow wow had just accured so that my allies declared war on me. I had my back against the wall when the plague hit, I quickly got the cure, tehn took my vengence. The Drath got the cure themselves, but I started steam rolling everyone else before they could get their own (I always play with big population g

Tagged this thread to forward to the web guys tomorrow. Thanks! It's actually continued to do it to me for every Meta game I've played.

In Stardock Central there is an option to archive the game. This will allow you to back it up to a disk. That should do the trick.

2 Replies 2,519 Views

Can if you also download it if you've ordered DA's disks? Yep. I purchased DA with the CD's from Stardock (I like to have something tangible for my money), and I downloaded just fine (same with DL a year ago).

No, there is no way to colonize a planet with rating of zero. As for your enimies colonizing them, it is either a bug, or they are getting your PQ 4 planet. Now, there are occasionaly events that happen that raise class 0 planets to a level that will be habitable, but these are fairly rare.

First, download and install Stardock Central. It can be found on this website under teh downloads section, it is the means by which Stardock handles thier digital distribution (kinda like Steam, but better). Once it is installed, go ahead and register. Make sure that when you do so, you use the same e-mail that yo used to order the game. Now, if you pre-ordered, then you should have recieved an e-mail containing your serial numbers. If Stardock Central does not prompt you to

I love the black interface . Just would like to know if anyone can confirm it won't trip the cheat flag in meta games. I agree, it's awesoem looking, I just want to be sure that it will fly with the metaverse.
