If you have a link to where they promised that preorders would come earlier, then please post it, becasue you are the first and only person I have ever heard say sucha thing. To tide you over, you could bust out a copy of MOO2 (if you have one). Otherwise teh other games mentioned might work. I heard SEV was really ggod, but that the AI is horrificly bad (making treaties with each other agreeign to cease research, effectivly ending any further threat tehy might pose). As for SOTS, I'v

For as much as I enjoy stuff about GalCiv, I think I'm going to lay off the previews. Since the game is now gold, I doubt there will be a whole lot of new info, and reading all these previews with two more weeks left is pure torture. It's like going out every five minutes on Christmas Eve to recount the number of presents under the tree!

The biggest I got was a class 72. It happened back in version 1.0X. It was actually a home world that got one or two random bonuses. The original thread where I reported it can be found here: WWW Link I still have a copy of the save game, I figure I probably won't have that happen again any time soon! A copy can be found here http://www.mediafire.com/?1nzhd5m4onw

Congratulations on your success. Going gold before the official release must be a real feather in your cap. Actually, every game goes gold before thier release. Going gold means that the code has been finalized (version 1.0). So, while work will continue to be done for patches and such, the actually version that will be on the retail cd's is f

Well how do you even find out who owns the copywrites in the first place? That's a god question, and since I didn't know myself, I did some looking around. If you are in America, teh best place to look is here: WWW Link It has a fully searchable database, and is surprisingly easy t

Was there consideration for a later/earlier date to be used for the release? Though it may be rare (as individual games can take days to play), some may have their time on the 14th occupied by their girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse. I think that it's high time you re-examined your priorities. Or, even better, it's high time your boyfriend/girlfriend/

On the third page of the UGO article they mention the Epic Generator as being one of the included features. My understanding was that the Epic Generator was cut, was I mistaken?

I guess it would ultimately depend on what kind of win you are playing for. If you are going purely for a military 'seek and destroy' type victory, then don't wait. Stick it to them as quickly as you can because they will surely target you if you don't target them. Just my opinion. I agree, if you are going for a conquest victory then you should

Everything?? hmmm thats a bit dumb to say considering your currently in the stardock website and i assume you know the current stardock policy with their products which i just finished acknoledging in my previous post?? Not to mention collectables, paintings and land, just as a few examples of things which i do believe are 'things' and included in the word 'everythi

No, the reward for having a legal copy of a game that gets a bit old is a damaged disk and no support. Unfortunitly, that's how it is with EVERYTHING you buy. I bought a truck this last summer. I speant a lot of money on it. My reward for using it? Having it wear out and lose value. My computer is the same way, it's worth around ha

Possibly (I would have to see both quotes side by side before I made any definitive decisions), but a phrase like "trying to figure itself out" is common enough that they could have had similar phrases with out completly by accident. If anyhting, it is probably a matter of one of the writers being a fan of Sagan, and just paying homage.

Ummm, normally the attackers break before they are all dead. True. But, one wold think that in the process of being routed taht some of thier transports would get blown up. But even if they didn't, I still don't understand the whole colony moduale thing. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I'm just saying that I don't understand it.

Dogs give you a friend to come home to after work, who doesn't care how your day went, but is just glad that you are home. Cats give you a second job to come home to, where if you don't please the boss, the boss will throw up on you as you sleep.

Size wise, I had a monster one that I built using Kryo's hull mod. It consisted of four or five massive hulls end to end in order to form the primary hull, and was about two to three hulls wide. What could it do? Anything it wanted to. Unfortunitly it was so big that it wouldn't show up in the combat viewer, so I never got to see it fighting in all it's glory.

I found that Amazon was taking pre-orders for Gal Civ 2 Gold, but there are a couple of odd things on it: 1) It says the release date is Feb. 5, 2007. No real biggie here, I'm guessing they just chose an arbitrary date and havn't revised it yet. 2) It says that it is being published by Take 2 Interactive. Is this just a mistake, or is Stardock not going to self publish this one? The site can be found here: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Take-2-Galactic-Civilization
