if the attackers are defeated then all transport modules are replaced with colony modules on the attacking transports. I'm curious as to what the point of this would be. If you are invading a planet, then most likely there aren't any planets around to settle on your own. Plus, if you just got defeated, then wouldn't you not have any p

1. I agree with Teancum and Evil here, I would like to see the UP get a big upgrade. 2. External ship builder. SOmetimes I just feel like designing one, but I don't have a game going (or the game I'm on doesn't have all the big hulls yet), or I don't want to load up the whole game just to get to it. 3. Snathi as a major race. Evil. Squirrels. 'Nuff said.
DEFCON is an exclusive of another network. Well darn, never mind then.
Man, you've got a fat wad of medals up there. I need to do some Metaversing and try to catch up.
Actually, it's the other way around: smaller ships go slower due to a lack of mass and bigger ships will go quicker due to their size and mass. While the text may say such a thing, I wouldn't argue with Teancum on this one. He is, in fact, a rocket scientist.
First, are you playing the DA beta? Second, even though you maxed out your research, have you placed additional engines on your ship? And if so, did you place more then one on? I only ask this because by the time I max out my engines my capitol ships are easily getting 25 moves or more.
An awesome game to get would be DEFCON, developed by Introversion. I've been hooked since it launched this last fall! The webstie is found here: WWW Link
I think this should sum up my response. WWW Link
A small issue, there is a slight grammer problem with the Korath description int he first two screens. It should read "has made them an even more dangerous foe". These AAR's were my favortie posts in the months or so leaing up to DA, and they continue to not disapoint!
IIRC, the expansion will be bundled with Dread Lords, and will replace DL on store shelves.
This would be really cool, however, I can see a couple potential problems with it. The game would have to be HUGE. In order to have the depth to make it fun, you would basically have to make two games. That is a lot of development. Also, if you have one race that focuses on technology, by the time anyone else reached a point where they could go galactic, the tech race could have colonized half the galaxy. Ther would have to be some mechanism to level the field that way.
Since they've already now said the 14th I know I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be passing out the party favors yet. Still almost a month to go. Good point.
Looks like jakanc and JubJub15 came closest, congrats!
* maintenance on ships getting high as my fleet gets big Easily possible, check your expense sheet. * loss of taxes as population gets put on invasion transports Also very possible, and o
1) At beginnning of turn, when my constructor arrives at one of my 50 odd starbases asking if I want to upgrade it how do I know where it is? ( I mean, with names like Starbase 1051 I can't really remember which one it is at that point ) And assuming I say "yes", it doesn't say what it already has. So how do I make an informed decision at this point without saying "no" the
2) The guidebook says, "Starbases are stationary platforms that can be built in any parsec that doesn't contain a planet or star." - this doesn't seem to be the case - infact after building like 30 in empty parsecs I thought I'd try building an Influence starbase right next to a foreign planet I wanted, and not too long later it rebelled and became mine. So it seems to me
But hell, it is totally useless. It always seems scripted so it never has any beneficial tiles, and it is a PQ4!!! I get bonus tiles on mine about 50% of the time (almost always farm bonuses). I like having it there. I usually build a starport on it, then I just buy the ships from it and use them to shore up the defenses of my home world
It says February 12th on the front page, so I'll go with that. You never know, sometimes that AI needs that extra tweek! On a side not, with the release of DL we got to pre-load it six days early, so that the servers didn't melt down on release day. Has anyone heard if/when that will go up for DA?
With DA's release quickly coming upon us; I have decided to start this thread as a form of friendly forum competition. Take a guess as to when you think the official release date will be (i.e.: the date that we can start downloading it off of Stardock Central). Post your reply, winner gets brownie points. Since there is an edit feature, everyone is on their honor not to change it once the announcement comes. I'll start off with my guess: February 22nd *
A couple of points I would like to make: Whatever was being produced ont hat planet should still be available for trade, right? (assume that you don't damage any improvments or planet quality). Just the owner changed. Not neccesarily. I'll give an example, where I'm from (Arizona), there are a number of really good Mexican food places.
how you access cheats? ive seen how before but im not very good at technical stuff like that please help! If that is the case, I don't know what else to tell you. If you can't figure out the instructions, then you are pretty much out of luck, unless you get someone to do it for you.
Now, anyone want to gib me enough $$ to buy an HD-DVD drive, or perhaps a PS3 Don't buy a PS3, that thing is going to tank harder then a Sega Saturn in a room full of Gizmondos.
i think this mean you would three designer so you would not have all your ships show up under one. Sort of like how there are differant hull types? So you would place your custom ships into certain "ship sets" (I can't think of a better word right now), then choose which one you wanted?
what we need as players is multi ship yards that way you can choose to use ship yard a or b or c What are you talking about? Do you mean multiple shipyards on a single planet? Becuase if so, then your production would be divided, and it would take twice as long to build a ship (if there were only one extra ship yard, even longer if
If you are losing on the very lowest setting then, to be honest, I think that you don't yet understand how to play. You mentioned however that you are working on "tough", if that is the case, then you should probably start off on a lower setting until you really get the hang of things. But, here are a couple things that might help. First, the AI isn't as good at managing small empires as humans. So, if you put your settings for stars, planets, and quality to "rare", then it
