The true joy of the game is to build the empire you want to build. It isn't to jump through some arbitrary hoop that the devs thought up, but to provide a game where you build the empire, you build the ships, and you determine the story line. If you watch a movie, you can enjoy it, and may grow tired of it. The same can be said of computer games. It was once said that a good book is one that is differant everytime you read it. The same is true of computer games. With the right

so you like it only for a starship "lego"? Yes and no. The true joy of the game is to build the empire you want to build. When it comes to trade and construction moduales, you only need one. The ship disapears once the moduale is used, so putting multiple ones on would serve no purpose aside from filling up space. However, if you want them on for eye candy, then Darth Alaneus is right, go with Kryo's hull mod.
They work great, especially if you get either Nano Rippers or HD Spike Drivers.
Select the ship by clicking on it. Then, tell it to move to a space occupied by a planet (right click on the planet to do this). Edit: Looks like Kryo beat me to it.
Some of the platitudes you use are mind blowingly stupid. Hey, show some gratitude for the platitude, he just has a good attitude.
i was discussing this word with a friend of mine the other day. does anyone use this word in speech, or is it only net jargon? is it a local idiom of... somewhere? Even though we don't see each other that often (we go to college in differant states), when we are around each other my brother and I sometimes use it in speech.
If you're new to these forums, you probably can't enjoy this all that much. However, for those who have been sticking around enough to know me I've been here about ten months, and I'll be honest, I have no idea who you are. You've barely been here a month. "New to these forums" includes you. As for having a "rep", you don't have one.
Looks like there are going to be some new awards going up on the web page! I think the review nailed it on the head when it was said: This seems to have borne fruit as sales for the title have been extremely robust, which seems a just reward for a company that produced a great game and did the right thing. This game is proof tha

I would pay nothing for carriers, as they cannot have any practical application beyond just making them a fourth weapon type due to the way GalCiv handles combat, and I am fine with three. For a mulitplayer upgrade, I would pay about of $30 for it.
I felt that guy who wrote the TCancer's article may have a thing for having access to every details imaginable to mankind, and then he wants to tweak them all. That's just...weird... Really? I came away with the opposite impression. I guess that just goes to show how two people can read the same words while at the same time reading som
Maybe the constructor crew saw the writing onthe wall, and decided to flee for thier lives. We should applaude the AI for realizing that there are both fight AND flight options.
I disagree with a couple items he mentioned. 1) Ship design. All but one item he mentions in favor of SEV's approach is found in the GalCiv version (the exception being ammo). Further, by saying the only thing that matters is the amount and type of weapons makes me curious as to how much he has really played the game. Armour and engines make a huge differance, as do sensors (unless you have eye of the universe), and especially support. Not to mention the size of the ship, which dete
When you think about nine races, each one would need individual name lists. That way you don't have a Drenj ship named the "Washington", or a Altarian ship named the "Flesh Reaver" (name that referance!). So, with 9 races (and more coming) you would need a list at least 150 names long (so that you don't overlap too early in the game, and the way some play, that may still be far too few). Regardless of the map settings, you would need it to be workable at the maximum settings. <b
Hopefully there isn't. The reason why I say that is becuase with Dread Lords, the manual was horrifically out of date by the time the game was released. I would hope that they wait a bit longer to do the manual, that way it is more accurate. Most of the information you can find on the forums, you just need to poke around some. Stardock has the most responsive devlopment team I have ever seen, so if you can't find it on yur own, you can always ask, and will probably get an answer fair
Indeed, the star gates had a speed of 1 per week (turn), which means even having no extra engines on a ship is much faster then what they were capable of. It's all explained in the backstory, found in the databanks section of this website, and various posts by Draginol.
I see the bling.
Yes, but at least they wait until they have played the finished game before they review it. True.
Well, if Gamespot announces the winners with the same speed that they do thier reviews, we should have the results in by early fall of 2108. Good luck GalCiv!
You can usually get both Fallout and Fllout 2 as a bundle. I personally thought the first game was of much higher quality, but #2 has more replay value. In the last year the games I've been getting on the cheap are: Farcry -$10 Operation Flashpoint (with the expansion)- $7-10 depending on where you get it. Jedi Acadamy- $10 Ground Control - Free from Fileplanet
I prefer the Nintendo style, when I see things like the "rapping consumer" I get to thinking, "if that is the type of person who loves (insert product), I don't think I want it." Now in the Nintendo ads, they also show people playing and enjoying the game, but it is clearly an advertisment. There is no illusion that it is "real", so I don't think "that is the type of person who buys this product, do I want to be inthat group". That being said, were I to buy a console this season, I wo
Sweet nacho momma! That is a huge list!
Ah, there's the problem, thanks!
I can't find that thread, what forum is it under?
